Sanction of the Victim on 13 May 2026 by Tanaka Ndongera. One of Ayn Rand's most provocative ideas: unjust systems survive because their victims give them moral approval. In a thought-provoking live session, Tanaka Ndongera drew from Atlas Shrugged to examine the concept of the 'sanction of the victim' and the responsibility of producers, thinkers, and entrepreneurs to withhold support from coercive, anti-productive systems. Who is John Galt?

Session 5: Objectivist Politics by Richard Salsman

What is the proper role of government? What are individual rights, and where do they come from? Richard Salsman led a rigorous lecture on Objectivist political philosophy exploring the moral foundations of individual rights and why capitalism is the only system Rand saw as consistent with human nature. Philosophy and politics are inseparable.

This week we delved on our Session 4: Objectivist Ethics by Robert Tracinski . One would ask?, Is pursuing your own happiness moral? Objectivism says yes and makes the case brilliantly.

Robert Tracinski delivered a compelling lecture on Objectivist ethics rational self-interest, the virtues of rationality, productivity, and pride, and why altruism as a moral ideal is challenged by Rand's framework. Ambition, creativity and achievement are not vices. They are virtues.

What Is Knowledge? Objectivism and Epistemology. How do we truly know what we know? We had a live session with Donald Jose, we explored Objectivist epistemology the role of perception, logic, and concept-formation in acquiring knowledge. Reason, Rand argued, is man's only valid means of knowledge. This session highlighted why a sound theory of knowledge matters for education, innovation, and societal progress.

What Is Real? Objectivism and Metaphysics
15 April 2026 by Stephen Hicks. What does it mean for reality to exist independent of our consciousness? In our latest lecture, Stephen Hicks explored Objectivist metaphysics, contrasting it with subjectivism, relativism, and mysticism, and showing why accepting objective reality is foundational to science, progress, and technological advancement. Reality is not negotiable. Reason is our tool for understanding it.

We recently hosted an eye-opening lecture on Objectivism, the systematic philosophy of Ayn Rand. Lecturer Isidora Kolar walked us through the five branches of Objectivism: metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, politics, and aesthetics and how they form a unified worldview grounded in reason, individualism, and objective reality. A powerful reminder that philosophy isn't abstract, it shapes all decision individuals and societies make.

LibertyCon Africa Day 2

We are proud to have been represented by our Senior Coordinator, Tanaka Ndongera, who took part in the panel discussion titled “Beyond Mandates: Fusing Human Respect and Tech Liberty for Africa’s Voluntary Digital Future.”

This panel was of paramount importance, as it explored how the Human Respect philosophy can be meaningfully integrated into shaping a voluntary digital future for Africa. Rooted in the principle of persuasion over coercion, the philosophy champions the idea that people should be free to express themselves and make choices willingly, without compulsion or force. We are grateful for the powerful insights shared, all geared towards building a freer, more dignified Africa.
