What if a bicycle could become more than a means of transportation a metaphor for understanding how we think, choose, act, and pursue a meaningful life? From September 2026 to March 2027, Students for Liberty Zimbabwe invites you to The Objectivism Bicycle, a seven-month philosophical journey exploring Ayn Randโs philosophy of Objectivism through the different parts of a bicycle.
Each month, we will take one component as our point of departure the frame, wheels, pedals, chain, handlebars, gears, and ultimately the complete bicycle in motion. Each part will open a different philosophical question, leading us into deeper conversations about reality, reason, knowledge, morality, individualism, and freedom. More importantly, we will consider how these ideas speak to the realities faced by young people in Zimbabwe and across Africa.
This is not a conventional lecture series. It is an invitation to question, reason, engage, and think independently. Like a bicycle that moves only when someone takes responsibility for steering and pedalling, a life of purpose requires conscious direction and personal agency.
