​To the incredible young leaders of today: Please know how deeply fortunate and blessed you truly are. You live in an era where the world is at your fingertips; technology is in your favor, and for the first time, the doors to mentorship are standing wide open.

​When I was in your shoes, the path was much lonelier. Mentors were rare, and those who had achieved success often kept their wisdom to themselves. We stumbled through many avoidable mistakes simply because there was no one to light the way. I don't want that for you.

​Today, there is a community of mentors—myself included—who are not just "open" to talking, but are genuinely passionate about your growth. Platforms like Kectil exist specifically to bridge the gap between you and accomplished leaders who want nothing more than to see you succeed.

​Regardless of the weight you are carrying or the darkness you might feel, please talk to someone. It breaks my heart to see su***de becoming a "norm" among our youth. It is a tragedy beyond words when a life is cut short over a temporary disagreement or a broken heart. You must understand that you are far more than your current struggle. You have a profound purpose in this world. There are generations coming after you who need to build upon the foundation of your succes.

On March 21, 2026, the Kectil Center for Youth Excellence-Zambia officially launched its 14th cohort, welcoming 120 dynamic young leaders. Over the next three months, these individuals will undergo an intensive journey designed to sharpen their leadership acumen and entrepreneurial grit, empowering the next generation of Zambia’s most promising talent.

Joy Banda Chongwe is a C-Suite Executive Assistant and Training Coordinator operating at a strategic, cross-functional level, where she translates leadership vision into coordinated action, systems, and measurable impact. Her work sits at the intersection of executive operations, stakeholder engagement, and leadership development, playing a critical role in how leadership priorities are aligned, executed, and sustained.

She supports healthcare initiatives under the PSQIL Foundation, an initiative of Dazzling Dental Clinic and Medicare, while contributing to capacity-building efforts within Dazzling Dental Clinic. Beyond her institutional role, she partners independently with business leaders and professionals across sectors, delivering executive operations and coordination support that strengthens ex*****on and drives strategic outcomes.

A mentor and communicator at heart, Joy co-leads mentorship initiatives within the Women in Technology Network and is the Founding Vice President, Public Relations at the Public Speaking Academy Toastmasters Club Zambia.

She is driven by a clear mission: to build systems, communities, and conversations that enable leaders and organizations to operate with clarity, purpose, and measurable impact.

Nkandu Beltz, Founding Director, is a Zambian-born, Perth-based entrepreneur and the visionary founder of Beltz Mining Limited, a prominent player in copper exploration in Zambia. With a background in Business Administration and Communications, Nkandu combines strategic insight with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement. She is also an author of three books and a former radio and TV personality. With a strong focus on business and investment, she has garnered recognition as an award-winning leader in Africa and Australia.
