As a Cyber Security Trainer based in Lusaka, you will work directly with a cohort of young Zambian ICT graduates—called NALAs—who are at the start of their professional journey. These are talented young people, predominantly women, who possess the necessary qualifications but need the practical skills, industry exposure, and confidence to break into the digital economy.

𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.

Minimum five (5) years of hands-on cybersecurity industry experience.

Minimum three (3) years of experience delivering cybersecurity training or certification preparation programmes.

Demonstrated track record of preparing learners for certification examinations and practical cybersecurity roles.

𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
Deliver structured training sessions to your cohort of NALAs following the Kectil curriculum, covering cybersecurity, digital skills, and professional development.

Facilitate discussions, practicals, and group activities that make learning active and relevant to the Zambian job market.

Track attendance and record every session using the programme's reporting tools; your documentation is what proves our impact.

Submit weekly session reports to the Programme Coordinator, flagging any participant challenges or concerns promptly.

Act as a primary communication channel between NALAs and the Kectil team; you are the first point of contact for any issues that arise within your cohort.

Uphold safeguarding standards at every point of contact with participants—before, during, and after sessions.

Participate in the mandatory Trainer of Trainers (ToT) induction programme before the cohort commences.

Contribute to monthly programme reviews and share observations to help improve the curriculum and delivery.

𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗭𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 🛫

Apart from my job as an airline captain, I am in Zambia also with a specific goal: to address the underlying issues preventing a significant portion of the Zambian population from realizing their full potential. These key obstacles include:

👉Low self-esteem
👉Lack of self-confidence
👉Fixed mindset
👉An element of Fear

To begin, we must confront the issue of low self-esteem. This is a complex issue with no quick fix, but we must start somewhere. My travels have revealed a common misconception in Zambia: many people confuse humility with low self-esteem. Zambian culture often discourages speaking up or standing on one’s ground, which can hinder personal growth and the realization of full potential.

Education is a crucial starting point. By fostering awareness and teaching young people to recognize their inherent value and potential, we can empower the future leaders and entrepreneurs of Zambia. We can all achieve greatness. When you look at me, see someone who believes in their potential, just like you. Don’t let low self-esteem convince you that some people are inherently special while others are not. We are all created in God’s image, destined for greatness, and meant to complement each other.

Community-based programs are equally vital. By providing skills training, mentorship, and access to opportunities, we can uplift individuals and instill a sense of empowerment.

It's Important to acknowledge that feelings of inadequacy often fuel low self-esteem. Our thoughts shape our feelings. Therefore, we must encourage open dialogues about self-worth and challenge societal norms that perpetuate negative self-perception.

On April 25, 2026, the Kectil Centre for Youth Excellence-Zambia celebrated the final physical session for our 14th cohort but with more virtual sessions left. We are incredibly proud to have guided 120 dynamic young leaders through an intensive three-month journey focused on sharpening leadership acumen and cultivating entrepreneurial grit.
