EduSport Foundation was Established in 1999, Education through Sport (EduSport) Foundation is a non-profit and indigenous Zambian sports NGO and charity. EduSport seeks to use sport, recreation and other forms of physical activities as interventions for achieving empowerment, education, health and other development goals in socio-economically underserved communities in Zambia. Central to EduSport

intervention methodology is the identification, training and supporting of young people to reach out through sport to their peers. We use sport to organize youths (communities) as we deliver programmes.

On 17th August the Edusport team visited Misisi queens academy which is located in Lusaka ,where we had a one day workshop and an open dialogue between athletes and coaches on menstrual health and hygiene ,inclusive coaching , safeguarding in sport's and donation of menstrual sanitary towels. Menstrual hygiene in sports coaching is increasingly recognized as a crucial aspect of female athletes wellbeing and performance. Edusport foundation is creating awareness of practical strategies that can help athletes through menstrual health literacy program to highlight the need for improved Education and resources in this area. We would like to recognize the efforts that friends of Edusport Norway is playing by making these meaningful programs possible. ! !

Empowering communities through their active participation in sport!

On the week of 12th & 13th July, the Edusport team spent two days at Charles Mulando and Kalimina Primary Schools in central province (Kabwe) conducting peer leader training sessions for young athletes participating in the Different sports disciplines.

The trained Leaders will have an opportunity to mobilize and recruit young people in sport. Much appreciation goes to Friends of Edusport Norway for supporting this event.

Febby Phiri will be representing EduSport during the ICSSPE UNESCO onsite workshop to be held in September in South Africa. Powerful discussions,inspiring ideas and collective energy!
Together with other young participants from different countries, we reflected on past experiences, shared testimonials and started planning how we can build ,safer more inclusive spaces through sport.
Grateful to ICSSPE and UNESCO for this opportunity to grow as leader and connect with passionate young advocates for change. Looking forward to what's next!

Misisi Queens Football club is home to some of the disadvantaged girls and young women in Zambia, many of whom have dropped out of school early and have children at a very early age.
This community is trapped in a circle of poverty, Gender based violence, drugs and substance abuse .Misisi Queens Football club strive to give an opportunity to these girls and young women by offering them an opportunity to play sport and realize their dreamers and giving them a future.
Misisi queens is among the teams participating in the FAZ Women's League division one (1) Funding for the team is a challenge as it depends on well wishes hence the team is appearing to individuals, local and international partners that are willing to provide support both material and financial.
The team is also appearing to organization that can provide sanitary pads or those who can provide training on how to make reuseable pads.

On Thursday 13th march 2025 Edusport Copperbelt Mufulira office welcomed Free Press Initiative (FPI). FPI works to defend press freedom, freedom of expression and build capacity of journalist.
The FPI team had two sessions of 15 peer leaders per group ,where they educated EduSport peer leaders on media and information literacy , digital security and cyber bullying, The insightful meeting saw participants sharing how cyber bullying is affecting their lives.

EDUSPORT COPPERBELT in partnership with RED CROSS SOCIETY ZAMBIA (MUFULIRA BRANCH) conducted a 3 days MPOX sensitization camp in OLASHO VILLAGE Mufulira near Congo, Daniel our YSEP participant, Florence Kabunda our Copperbelt coordinator
and 3 peer leaders were part of the camping. In Mufulira and some parts of Zambia there is an outbreak of MPOX. MPOX (monkey pox) is an infectious disease caused by the monkey pox virus. It can cause a painful rash, enlarged lymph nodes and fever. Most people fully recover, but some get very sick.
Anyone can get mpox. It spreads from contact with infected persons, through touch, kissing, or s*x, animals, when hunting, skinning, or cooking them and pregnant persons may pass the virus on to their unborn baby. Stay safe 😷 and protect yourself from Mpox.

The 2025 international Day of Education is held under the theme, ‘AI and Education: Human Agency in an Automated World’. This day encourages reflections on the power of education to equip individuals and communities to navigate, understand, and influence technological advancement.

SDG 4, in particular, aims to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality Education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” by 2030. EduSport Foundation through, our partners Borstad Ungdomeskole and EduSport Norge we are championing Education by providing secondary and tertiary scholarship programs to our participants and Community Coordinators, including those with special needs giving them a belief that they can become who they want to be in future.

On the 17th and 18th January 2025 ,the National Sports Council of Zambia hosted National Federations Governance forum and we had a privilege to be among the key stake holders invited as guests at this important event. The main objective of the forum was was to enhance knowledge and competence of participants in good governance related to the sports sector, this gesture has come at a good time when we are planning for active implementation for 2025 with enhancing partnership and good governance being one of our key focus areas.
