Training 15 Healthcare workers from 5 Health Facilities across four Wards in Chisamba and Chibombo Districts on strengthening SRHR services for adolescents and young people || 25th September 2026.

Sessions included
Principles of youth-friendly service delivery: Provider Bias & Confidentiality: Flexible Service Timing: Integrated Screening

SRH and WASH Linkages for
Adolescents. Integrating Adolescent Sexual
Reproductive Health and WASH services, facilitated by Ms. Kachusha, working with the Youth WASH ambassador club- YWAC , a partner from the Zambia NGO WASH FORUM

M&E for Adolescent SRH & Integrated Programming.
1. Capturing youth specific indicators
in Standard Registers.
2. Developing tracking mechanisms.

Strengthening coordination between the District Health Offices & Health Facilities.
Presentations were made by the Adolescent Focal Point Person for each District i.e Chisamba and Chibombo District.

Gratitude to our Programs Manager, Ms. Alice Mwale for coordinating the program, all the Health Facility Staff, the District Health representatives for Chisamba and Chibombo, representative from the Board and the Space to Lead Project Manager for Plan International Zambia, Mr. Moyowanyambe for rendering support and physical presence during the training.

Strengthening Adolescent Friendly Spaces at Chisamba Rural Health Center, St. Thomas Mission and Chibombo Rural Health Center || 16th-18th September 2026.

Purpose was to create opportunities for adolescents and young people to engage healthcare providers, access SRHR information, and participate in feedback and accountability processes.

Objectives:
1. To strengthen Youth Friendly Spaces in targeted health facilities.
2. To mobilize adolescents and young people to actively participate in AFS platforms.
3. To support newly trained peer educators in facilitating youth engagement and information sharing.
4. To enhance access to accurate SRHR information within safe and supportive environments.
5. To strengthen feedback mechanisms between adolescents and health service providers.

The Space to Lead (S2L) Project is implemented in partnership with Plan International Zambia and 8 partner organisations, with support from Sida and SNO.

We made a presentation during the Zambia NGO WASH FORUM Second Quarterly review meeting held from 10th to 11th September 2026. The meeting provided a platform for reflection, learning, and planning as we continue to strengthen our collective efforts. We were represented by one of our Adolescents, Nicholas Chileshe.

Here to Love facilitated a conversation titled:
“Youth-led safe spaces for SRHR, HIV prevention and child protection: HTL’s Zambia experience.”
at the in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, convened by the International AIDS Society.

HTL discussed implementation of the Space to Lead (S2L) project under Plan International Zambia, which supports youth-led engagement on sexual reproductive health rights, HIV prevention, safeguarding and protection, mental wellness, stigma reduction, and adolescent and youth friendly services (AYFS) in Zambia, among other programmes.

The activity included an interactive discussion, information sharing and a pledge where participants identified actions they could take to make HIV and SRHR services safer, more inclusive and responsive to young people.

These conversations support the wider goals championed by UNAIDS and reaffirm HTL’s commitment to ensuring that young people help shape the services intended for them. HTL was represented by Dr. Jackson Shawa.

We participated in the Gender and Male Involvement Capacity Building workshop with a focus on Gender Equality Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), MenCare Campaign and Coaching boys to Men (CBIM) as a consortium member of the MenEngage Africa MenEngage Alliance Zambia which is coordinated by Zccp Kwathu. This is being conducted in collaboration with SIDA Partners, and funded by Save the Children Zambia

We successfully oriented 8 Child/Youth-Led groups from 5 districts on the registration process between 29th - 30th June, 2026.

Recognizing that registration and compliance are critical to building resilient and sustainable civil society organisations, we engaged young people from Kapiri, Mkushi, Kabwe, Chisamba, and Chibombo Districts to equip them with the necessary knowledge and tools.

This training was facilitated with support from Plan International , LifeLine ChildLine and Ministry of Community Development and Social Services

Kabowa Health Post YFS and Community Child Protection Committee (CCPC) was visited during the joint monitoring ||25th June 2026.

A visit to understand project performance, identify areas of improvement and strengthen stakeholder relations. Activities at the YFS include Sports (Soccer), and sessions on prevention of pregnancy/family planning, HIV prevention/PrEP/PEP, peer pressure, drug/substance abuse, community sensitisation(peer to peer), child/forced marriage case management, quiz, talent show, debate, Cultural dances, helpline 116, encourage peers HIV+ Support groups and mental health.
