When girls are forced to use unsafe alternatives or stay home due to lack of pads, it is not just a health issue, it is a violation of their right to education, their right to health, and their right to live free from stigma.

Recognizing menstrual rights as human rights means ensuring access to affordable products, comprehensive menstrual education, safe sanitation facilities, and laws that protect the dignity of every menstruator. It also means confronting the silence and cultural barriers that continue to marginalize girls.

A society that upholds menstrual rights is a society that invests in equality, justice, and the wellbeing of its future.

Let’s talk about Dignity:

What is Dignity?

Dignity means knowing you have value just because you are human. No one can take that away from you.

Here’s what dignity looks like for a schoolgirl:

1:Not feeling shame about your body
2:Your period comes and you don’t have to hide. You 3:don’t feel dirty. You know it’s normal.
4: You’re confident enough

=Having your basic needs met
5:You have pads, soap, and clean water. You don’t use leaves, newspaper, or old cloth because there’s nothing else.

6:Being treated with respect
7:Boys don’t laugh at you. Teachers don’t send you home. You sit in class like everyone else.

=Having choices:
8:You choose to go to school even when on your period. You choose to stay in school.

9:Walking with your head up
10:You answer questions in class. You’re not scared someone will see a stain. You believe your voice matters.

HERšŸ’œ Ending period poverty is not just about giving our girls pads it is about educating our girls, giving them confidence and equal opportunities,

Pad a girl with Thandiza Her šŸ’œon the way ✊

TEACHER VS ANNI

Anni has been missing class. One week, every single month. Always the same days. Her grades are dropping. At first, the teacher thought she’s just being lazy.

Then the teacher finds time and call her after school. The teacher ask her gently, "Anni, why are you missing so much? You’re one of my smartest girls."
Anni looked at her feet. She twists her uniform. Finally, she whispered:

"Madam… missing class is not what I want. It’s because when my period🩸 comes, I have nothing to use. My mother gives me toilet roll🧻sometimes I even use leaves šŸƒ but it soaks through. Last month the boys laughed at me. I walked home with my sweater tied around my waist."

"I love school, Madam. I want to be a nurse. But I can’t sit in class and pray I don’t bleed on the chair. So I stay home. I cry. I wait for it to endā€šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜

This is period poverty 🩸it’s not about girls missing school because they are lazy.it’s about girls having access to what they need to stay.✊

That’s the reason why THANDIZA HER FOUNDATION is here.
We are here✊ because of a girl who misses one week of School every month. Not because she’s sick. Not because she’s lazy because when her period 🩸comes she has nothing to use.So she chooses shame at home over shame in class.

We are here because of a mother who tears old chitenge in silence, praying it’s enough.
We are here because 5 days a month becomes 40 days a year. One whole term lost because of something natural .

THANDIZA HER exist to stop that loss.
That is why THANDIZA HER is here.YOUR DIGNITY,OUR MISSION!!
