BENEFITS OF MALE CIRCUMCISION

Good afternoon NAMTV family,I have a few minutes to spare and I decided to write about Voluntary Male Medical Circumcision(VMMC).

I'm definitely sure most of us have heard or come across the above mentioned. Since the school holidays are coming up now it's really worth considering for our boyz .

VMMC is the complete surgical removal of the fo****in🥼✂️✂️.kudula nkanda yakusogolo Kwa umuna.

What are the benefits of VMMC?

1.Hygiene.Removing the fo****in makes it easier to wash and keep the place clean .Odourless.

2.It reduces the risk of Urinary Tract Infections .

3.Reduces the risk of Sexually Transmitted Infections .

4.Reduces the risk of HIV infection by up to 60 percent. Just saw some really shocking Statistics from the AIDS Congress that was held in Durban recently.

5.Reduces the risk of transferring the Human Papilloma Virus which is a major risk factor for the development of Cervical Cancer in our ladies.

6.Reduces the risk of Cervical Cancer in Women. So getting circumcised not only protects you but it protects your partner as well.

7.Prevents other pe**le problems .

8.Reduces the risk of getting Pe**le Cancer.

The list of benefits is endless but I chose the more crucial and relevant to the general population.

There's no age limit to who can get circumcised and it's never too late.

The good thing about doing it at your Doctor is the procedure is completely safe and pain free.

WHAT IS ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION

Erectile dysfunction (impotence) is the inability to get and keep an er****on firm enough for s*x.

Having er****on trouble from time to time isn't necessarily a cause for concern. If erectile dysfunction is an ongoing issue, however, it can cause stress, affect your self-confidence and contribute to relationship problems. Problems getting or keeping an er****on can also be a sign of an underlying health condition that needs treatment and a risk factor for heart disease.

Causes
Male s*xual arousal is a complex process that involves the brain, hormones, emotions, nerves, muscles and blood vessels. Erectile dysfunction can result from a problem with any of these. Likewise, stress and mental health concerns can cause or worsen erectile dysfunction.

Sometimes a combination of physical and psychological issues causes erectile dysfunction. For instance, a minor physical condition that slows your s*xual response might cause anxiety about maintaining an er****on. The resulting anxiety can lead to or worsen erectile dysfunction.

Physical causes of erectile dysfunction
In many cases, erectile dysfunction is caused by something physical. Common causes include:

Heart disease
Clogged blood vessels (atherosclerosis)
High cholesterol
High blood pressure
Diabetes
Obesity
Metabolic syndrome — a condition involving increased blood pressure, high insulin levels, body fat around the waist and high cholesterol
Parkinson's disease
Multiple sclerosis
Certain prescription medications
To***co use
Peyronie's disease — development of scar tissue inside the p***s
Alcoholism and other forms of substance abuse
Sleep disorders
Treatments for prostate cancer or enlarged prostate
Surgeries or injuries that affect the pelvic area or spinal cord
Low testosterone
Psychological causes of erectile dysfunction
The brain plays a key role in triggering the series of physical events that cause an er****on, starting with feelings of s*xual excitement. A number of things can interfere with s*xual feelings and cause or worsen erectile dysfunction. These include:

Depression, anxiety or other mental health conditions
Stress
Relationship problems due to stress, poor communication or other concerns
Risk factors
As you get older, er****ons might take longer to develop and might not be as firm. You might need more direct touch to your p***s to get and keep an er****on.

Various risk factors can contribute to erectile dysfunction, including:

Medical conditions, particularly diabetes or heart conditions
To***co use, which restricts blood flow to veins and arteries, can — over time — cause chronic health conditions that lead to erectile dysfunction
Being overweight, especially if you're obese
Certain medical treatments, such as prostate surgery or radiation treatment for cancer
Injuries, particularly if they damage the nerves or arteries that control er****ons
Medications, including antidepressants, antihistamines and medications to treat high blood pressure, pain or prostate conditions
Psychological conditions, such as stress, anxiety or depression
Drug and alcohol use, especially if you're a long-term drug user or heavy drinker
Complications
Complications resulting from erectile dysfunction can include:

An unsatisfactory s*x life
Stress or anxiety
Embarrassment or low self-esteem
Relationship problems
The inability to get your partner pregnant

Sexual Reproductive Health.

What is s*xual and reproductive health?
The term ‘s*xual and reproductive health’ can be defined as a person’s right to a healthy body and the autonomy, education and healthcare to freely decide who to have s*x with and how to avoid s*xually transmitted infections or unintended pregnancy. Sexual health is an integral part of overall health and well-being, ensuring everyone can have pleasurable and safe s*xual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination or health risks.

Access to s*xual and reproductive health services enable people to exercise this right. It can take the form of medical care related to the reproductive system, for example, to treat a s*xually transmitted infection, or the facilitation of reproductive autonomy with the provision of contraception and abortion care.

Why parents/caregivers need to get involved in s*xuality education for their adolescents

The plethora of unfiltered s*xuality information, as well as associated health risks, means that parents/guardians should not delegate the responsibility of s*xuality health education to peers, and service providers alone. A study conducted in Namibia showed that parental participation in the provision of s*xuality education to children is important since the parents play the biggest role in terms of socialization. However, parental participation is influenced by adequacies in s*xuality information, cultural practices, attitudes towards s*xuality education and parent-child relationships. Where barriers exist, chances of any meaningful contribution to preventing risky s*xual behaviors among adolescents are considerably minimized.

Families Matter intervention, a package within DREAMS aims to strengthen the ability of parents and caregivers to engage their children in discussions on how they can achieve their goals in life, solidify the relationship between the parent and the child and most importantly, provide s*xuality education to the children. Communication strengthening in this aspect serves to ensure that the parent-child relationship is vibrant and the discussions around s*xuality and s*xual risk reduction, life skills, and HIV are discussed effectively and understood by the children. Parents are actively involved in the intervention, embracing the lessons and putting what they are learning into practice.

Why does s*xual and reproductive health matter?

Sexual and reproductive health matters because it is an essential component of an individual’s overall health and wellbeing. Autonomy in s*xual and reproductive decision-making is also a human right that is grounded in the right to health, the right to be free from s*xual violence, and to determine whether to become pregnant.

If s*xual and reproductive health needs and rights are not met, individuals are denied the right to make choices about their own bodies and futures, which can have a knock-on impact on their families’ welfare and future generations. And because it is often women who face the health and financial implications of not having access to services like contraception and abortion care, s*xual and reproductive health and rights cannot be separated from gender equality.

MEN, AVOID THESE THINGS WHICH CAN CAUSE PROSTATE CANCER

May 13, 2022

There are some things every man should avoid to reduce the risk of prostate cancer because those things can harm the prostate gland and make it vulnerable to infections that can cause the cells to grow abnormally. According to Healthline, the prostate is a small gland that’s found in males and it looks like a small walnut in shape. Its main function is to produce a fluid called seminal fluid, which is used by the body to nourish and convey men arrows.

However, the things you eat or consume can keep the prostate healthy or make it susceptible to infections, which can lead to a medical condition known as prostate cancer, and it’s important to know the things to avoid in order to preserve the prostate and maintain its functionality

In this article, I want to briefly discuss two major things everyone should avoid to reduce their risk of prostate cancer.

1 One of the things to avoid is the consumption of alcohol in excess. Taking too much alcohol can prevent the prostate muscle from relaxing properly, and this in turn can cause irritation of the bladder, resulting in prostate enlargement. For all the reasons stated above, men should do all they can to avoid drinking too much alcohol.

2. Taking too much of sugar. Men should strive to avoid consuming excess sugary drinks like juice and carbonated drinks, which are sweetened beverages that can harm the prostate. Some bacteria thrive in a sugary environment, and when the concentration of sugar is high in the blood and the muscles of the prostate, it can lead to infections that can further abnormal growth of cells that become cancer.

3. Another thing to avoid is the consumption of excess red meat. Eating too much red meat can increase the risk of having prostate cancer. Due to the high protein level in red meat, men who eat it on a daily basis are more prone to having this medical condition.
