Update on Water Supply to Kitwe North Residents
Nkana Water Supply and Sanitation Company wishes to update our esteemed customers in Riverside, Parklands, Kwacha, Bulangililo, Mindolo, Kawama, Industrial Area, East of Kwacha, Kwacha East and Garneton on the ongoing works to improve water supply.
Progress has been made on the installation of the third pump, with laser alignment currently being set up. This is a critical step in the pump installation process. This third pump will be commissioned today, Tuesday, 16th September 2025, and customers can expect a gradual improvement in water supply starting tomorrow, Wednesday, 17th September 2025.
During this period, when water production is still at 50 percent capacity, we continue to ration water supply. We therefore urge all our customers to store water whenever it is available and will continue to be supplemented with a water bowser.
Once installation of the third pump is complete, works will immediately commence on the fourth pump, which will raise production to 100 percent and restore normal supply to all affected areas.
We also urge members of the public, particularly the youths, to desist from vandalising valves and valve chambers, as such acts disrupt water distribution and slow down efforts to improve supply.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and we appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to stabilise and improve water supply.
