District 413 Leo Club

During the 38th Annual Leo Conference, district clubs had the privilege of visiting , a place that continues to provide hope, care, and opportunities to vulnerable children.
Ebenezer started as a feeding program at a time when Livingstone had many street children in need of support. Over the years, it grew into a shelter providing a safe home for children facing different risks such as abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Today, the institution has expanded into two schools — one from Early Childhood Education (ECE) to Grade 7 and another being a secondary school — all aimed at providing opportunities to the less privileged.
During our visit, we took time to interact with the children and appreciate the incredible work being done by the institution. As a club, we were honored to be part of this donation drive where we joined hands with other Leo clubs to donate sanitary pads in support of the girl child, along with cleaning materials, washing detergents, sugar, porridge etc for the children kept at the shelter.Beyond the items donated, what stood out most was the spirit of togetherness, compassion, and shared commitment to service. It was a reminder that every contribution, no matter the size, carries the power to restore dignity, bring comfort, and uplift lives.
The experience reaffirmed that service is not measured only in material value, but in the impact it creates and the hope it restores.

Today, we celebrated the spirit of giving and kindness at Umoyo orphanage In recognition of Leo Day (December 5th), our Leo members came together to donate essential items, including school books, pencils, pens, books, mealie meal, and clothes. We're grateful for the opportunity to give back to our community and make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Thank you to everyone who contributed and participated! Orphanage

Leos of District 413 Support the ABSA Marathon

As part of their strategic objective to collaborate with corporate organizations, the Leos of District 413 partnered with ABSA Bank during the 2025 ABSA Marathon. This collaboration provided an opportunity for the Leos to demonstrate their commitment to community service while strengthening partnerships that align with their vision of impactful youth engagement.

During the marathon, the Leos served as part of the official support crew, tasked with the responsibility of providing refreshments to runners along the route. Positioned at strategic hydration points, the Leos distributed water and energy drinks to participants, ensuring that runners remained energized and motivated throughout the race. Their role was vital in contributing to the success of the marathon, as timely access to refreshments is an essential component of runner safety and performance.

The partnership with ABSA not only enhanced the visibility of the Leos within the broader community but also reinforced their commitment to service through collaboration. By working hand in hand with a leading financial institution, the Leos demonstrated the value of youth organizations in supporting corporate initiatives that promote health, wellness, and community engagement.

This initiative forms part of the Leos of District 413’s broader strategic plan to build lasting relationships with corporate organizations.
