📰 YOT Faith Corner | Prayer 📞🙏

Watching two people talk on the phone reminds us that prayer is our direct communication with God. Just as a phone call involves talking and listening, prayer is about speaking to God, listening to His voice, and trusting His guidance.

Matthew 6:5–13 teaches us to pray with sincere hearts. When we are praying we should also remember our families, friends, the Church, our leaders, and our nation for it is our Christian duty. .

Youth of Truth (YOT) Fellowship | 01 - Aug - 2026

Session: Prayer Series (Part 2) 🙏

Today at the Youth of Truth Fellowship, we continued our series on Prayer.

To help us understand prayer, we used a simple telephone illustration. Two volunteers pretended to talk on the phone. This showed us that prayer is like making a phone call to God. Just as people talk, listen, and respond during a phone conversation, prayer is our way of talking with God and listening to Him.

We also learned that although God already knows what we need, He wants us to come to Him in prayer. He wants us to have a personal relationship with Him and to speak to Him with honesty and faith.

Our key Scripture was Matthew: 6 vs. 5–13, where Jesus teaches us how to pray. We were reminded to pray sincerely, not to be seen by others. Jesus said that we should pray to our Father in secret, and He who sees what is done in secret will reward us.

We also encouraged one another to pray not only for ourselves but also for our families, friends, relatives, the Church, our leaders, and our nation.

Prayer keeps us connected to God. Make time to talk with Him every day. 🙏

This week's Youth Fellowship focused on Goals and the Habits that help us achieve them.

Together, we discussed how 'Good Habits' can move us closer to our 'Goals', while 'Bad Habits' can hold us back from becoming the people God wants us to be. Through the examples of Jesus and Daniel, we learned the importance of prayer, discipline, consistency and faithfulness in our daily lives.

Hebrews: 10 vs. 24 - 25

It was encouraging to see the youths actively participating in discussions and activities, sharing their experiences and identifying habits they need to develop or overcome. Many committed themselves to becoming more prayerful, studying God's Word regularly, encouraging fellow youths and taking a more active role in church programs.

We thank God for a fruitful fellowship and pray that these lessons will help our youths grow spiritually and personally as they pursue their God-given goals.

Today we had a successful and impactful Youth Fellowship where young people gathered to learn about SMART Goals and how to live purposeful Christian lives.

The youths actively participated in group activities, shared ideas with their peers, and reflected on goals that can help them grow spiritually and personally.

Many pledged to start with small but meaningful goals such as:
• Becoming more prayerful
• Studying the Word of God daily
• Encouraging fellow youths
• Participating actively in church programs

We thank God for the unity, learning, laughter, and growth experienced during the session. May this be the beginning of disciplined, purpose-driven and Christ centered lives among our youths.

Today at the Youth of Truth (YOT) fellowship, we had an amazing time together.

Each youth had an opportunity to think of their favorite Bible character, point out their unique personality, and highlight the good attributes and values they carry. It was also encouraging to see how each person identified themselves with their chosen character.
Some of the qualities shared included confidence, courage, hopefulness, prayerfulness, faithfulness, love, vision, wisdom, and strength.

We all learned how we can emulate these characters in our daily lives, and that God used ordinary people just like us.

Theme of the teaching: Being like them as they followed Christ.

RECAP ON YOUTH SUNDAY SERVICE.

THEME: The Six Godly Standards for the Young Disciple (1 Timothy: 4 vs. 12 -13)

1. A Young Disciple Must Be an Example in Speech.
Colossians 4:6
“Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.”

2. A Young Disciple Must Be an Example in Conduct.
James 3:13
“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.”

3. A Young Disciple Must Be an Example in Love.
Matthew 22:37-39
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind… Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”

4. A Young Disciple Must Be an Example in spirit.
Proverbs 20:27
“The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the inner depths of his heart.”

5. A Young Disciple Must Be an Example in Faith.
Hebrews 11:6
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”

6. A Young Disciple Must Be an Example in Purity.
Matthew 5:8
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

Prayer Point:
• God help the Youths to live by the Six (6) Godly standards
• God help the parents/guardians to help their children to live by the 6 Godly standards.
