Are you a recent Grade 12 graduate waiting to go to college or still deciding on your next step? Do you have time, energy, and a talent you would like to share with others in your community?

Liseli Initiative is inviting passionate Livingstone young people to join the Liseli Initiative Youth Group.

We are especially looking for youths who can share social and creative skills with fellow young people in our programs — including:
- Dancing
- Poetry
- Art
- Music
- Motivational speaking
- Any other positive creative or social skill

This is an opportunity to give back to your community, build leadership skills, and gain practical experience in community work. You will also receive training to become peer educators, equipping you with knowledge and skills to support other young people.

We had an insightful youth engagement meeting with the Light of Life Youths in Mulala and surrounding communities. The session provided a valuable platform to better understand the key challenges young people are facing, helping us shape a more responsive and strategic approach as Liseli Initiative.

Together with these 30 passionate youths, we are embarking on a journey of change empowering them to serve as community ambassadors who will drive positive impact from within.

About Liseli Initiative
Liseli Initiative is a community-based organization committed to empowering young people, women, and communities through education, economic empowerment, and social development programs. The organization works to promote youth leadership, life skills development, and improved access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services.

Position Summary
Liseli Initiative is seeking a passionate, youthful, and enthusiastic individual to serve as a Youth Development / SRHR Coordinator. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate youth-focused programs, particularly those related to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). The Coordinator will work closely with young people, community leaders, schools, and partners to implement youth development initiatives, life skills programs, and SRHR awareness activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement youth development and SRHR programs in target communities.
- Facilitate youth engagement platforms such as youth clubs, dialogues, and mentorship programs.
- Deliver training sessions on SRHR, life skills, gender equality, and youth leadership.
- Support the establishment and strengthening of youth groups and safe spaces.
- Work with schools, community leaders, and health facilities to improve youth access to SRHR information and services.
- Monitor program activities and document results, success stories, and lessons learned.
- Support development of program reports and contribute to organizational learning.
- Ensure meaningful participation of young people in program design and implementation.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Development Studies, Youth Development, Community Development, or any related field.
- At least 2 years of experience working in youth development, SRHR programs, or community-based projects.
- Knowledge of youth engagement approaches and SRHR programming.
- Experience facilitating trainings or community dialogues with young people.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with communities, schools, and youth groups.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Personal Attributes
- Youthful, energetic, and enthusiastic about working with young people and youth-led initiatives.
- Passion for youth empowerment and community development.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.

Position Summary
Liseli Initiative is seeking a motivated, youthful, and enthusiastic individual to serve as an Administration and Empowerment Officer who will support the organization’s administrative operations and coordinate community-based economic empowerment activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening internal systems while supporting programs aimed at improving livelihoods for women and youth.

Key Responsibilities
1. Administrative Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the organization.
- Maintain office records, documentation, and filing systems.
- Assist in organizing meetings, trainings, and community engagements.
- Support preparation of reports, correspondence, and program documentation.
- Coordinate communication with partners, stakeholders, and community members.
- Support logistics for organizational activities and events.

2. Empowerment Responsibilities
- Support the establishment and strengthening of community savings groups.
- Facilitate financial literacy and entrepreneurship training sessions.
- Assist in coordinating youth and women economic empowerment programs.

Today, Liseli Initiative successfully held its First 2026 quarter board meeting, bringing together board members to review the organization’s work and strengthen its governance.

A key highlight of the meeting was the election and ushering in of new board leadership, including the Board Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and Treasurer, who will help provide strategic direction and oversight to the organization.

YOUTH SPOTLIGHT – CELEBRATING YOUNG CHANGE MAKERS

As we continue celebrating Youths, Liseli Initiative remains committed to highlighting young people who are making a meaningful difference in their communities. 🌍✨

Today we spotlight Patson Brown Banda , a dedicated clinician who plays a vital role in supporting expectant mothers through pregnancy, labor, and postpartum care. Patson strongly believes that no woman should lose her life while giving birth, and he works passionately to ensure mothers receive the care and support they need for safe deliveries.

In addition to maternal health, Patson is actively involved in providing comprehensive care and support to individuals living with HIV, contributing to healthier and stronger communities. ❤️

Beyond his work in healthcare, Patson is also an entrepreneur and the CEO of Browns Drip Boutique, demonstrating how young people can pursue both professional service and business leadership.

His message to fellow youths:
"Don’t be afraid to chase your dreams. Take risks and learn from your mistakes. Stay curious and never give up on your passion."

YOUTH DAY SPOTLIGHT – CELEBRATING YOUNG CHANGE MAKERS

Liseli Initiative continues to shine a light on young people who are making a difference in their communities. 🌍✨

We spotlight Daniel Siame a professional pianist at Mukwa River Lodge and a passionate advocate for music and youth development.

Daniel runs the Mukwa School of Music and Arts, an initiative dedicated to discovering and nurturing musically talented children and young people in Simoonga Village and surrounding communities. Through this platform, he helps young people develop their musical gifts and confidence.
He also conducts music classes in the Linda community, creating opportunities for children and youth to explore their creativity and build valuable skills through music. 🎹

Beyond music, Daniel is also an entrepreneur. He runs Lighthouse Barbershop, a barbershop and salon business in Mulala, demonstrating the power of combining talent, passion, and entrepreneurship.

His message to fellow youths:
"Believe in yourself, do your best, and God will do the rest."
