Kwathu is a Nyanja word which means “my place or my home” providing a loving and caring family environment for vulnerable children aged 3 to 17 years to live within and call home. Kwathu Children’s Home is a non-profit, community faith-based home in Livingstone, Zambia that provides shelter, education, psychosocial support, care for HIV infected and affected children, and life skills to vulnerable children in a healthy, stable and safe environment.

Today, we had the privilege of visiting the Livingstone Correctional Service Facility, where Kwathu Children's Home donated 25 boxes of food supplements and nutritional sachets to the Prison Clinic, through our community outreach program.

These essential nutritional supplements will benefit 747 inmates, helping to improve their health and well-being. We believe that every person deserves care, compassion, and access to basic health support.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our community in this way and thank everyone who continues to support our mission of bringing hope and dignity to those in need.

Yesterday, we continued our Food and Nutritional Supplement Distribution Program by reaching out to vulnerable families in Mwandi Compound.

We were blessed to serve more than 170 people, providing much-needed food and nutritional supplements to those in need. Every meal shared is a reminder that together, we can bring hope, love, and dignity to our communities.

We give all the glory to God and sincerely thank everyone who continues to support this mission. ❤️🙏

Traditional Day at Kwathu Free Haven School

On Friday, Kwathu Free Haven School proudly celebrated Traditional Day, giving our pupils the opportunity to learn about the importance of Zambia's rich traditions and cultural heritage.

The learners were encouraged to appreciate their identity, respect different cultures, and understand the values that have been passed down through generations. It was a fun and educational day that reminded us that preserving our culture is an important part of shaping responsible future leaders.

We thank our teachers, parents, and pupils for making the day a great success!

Last Wednesday was truly a blessed day during our Community Outreach in Sinde Village, Chief Musokotwane.

We were greatly honored to be welcomed by 12 Village Headmen and the Senior Headman. Through our food distribution and nutritional supplement program, we were privileged to reach and serve more than 250 people in the community.

We thank God for making this outreach possible and for allowing us to be a blessing to others. To Him alone be all the glory! 🙏❤️

❤️ Reaching More Communities with Hope and Nutrition ❤️

We are grateful to continue our community food distribution program, bringing hope and nourishment to families in need.

This week, we visited Siampuli Village in Kazungula District, where we distributed Lentil Pro Packs and nutritional supplements to over 130 people. Yesterday, we also had the privilege of serving 180 people in the Ngwenya Community.

We give all the glory to God for making it possible for these life-giving donations to reach different communities. Every meal shared and every family supported is a reminder of God's love and faithfulness.

A heartfelt thank you to all our friends, partners, and supporters whose generosity and prayers continue to make this work possible. Together, we are making a lasting difference—one community at a time.

We are excited to share that this year, we welcomed a new group of women into our tailoring project at Kwathu! In just two weeks, these incredible women have already learned to design and create the beautiful chitenge skirts 👗 they are proudly wearing—a powerful step toward independence.

Our tailoring project is centered on empowerment—equipping women with practical sewing skills, business knowledge, and the confidence to start their own ventures. Through this, they are able to generate income, support their families, and uplift their communities.

This is more than just training—it’s about transforming lives and building a sustainable future 💪🏾

We were glad to host a total of 20 young people from Global Challenge South Africa who volunteered with us. They helped us with a number of works at the farm, school, children’s home, and ministered the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the village of Senkobo.
We want to say thank you to Global Challenge for obeying the voice of God, for blessing and being a blessing to our community.
