CATS-Conservation And Tourism Society

CATS-Conservation And Tourism Society We don’t own the planet Earth, we belong to it. And we must share it with our wildlife. CATS is a non profit association based in Livingstone, Zambia.

We are a team made up of volunteers. The volunteers enter communities to teach others (mainly children) how to live with wildlife and how to best take care of then and the environment that surrounds them. Teaching young children in such a way that they engage themselves in the environmental cause and conservation of wildlife is a great way to give a sense of love - and responsibility - to the plan

et and its many inhabitants.

«If you want to change the world, you have to empower people. That’s the only way you can make any permanent effective change on the world» - David Stirling

At Conservation and Tourism Society, we’re bringing communities and nature together in the best way possible! From protecting wildlife to promoting sustainable tourism, we’re also getting our hands on the soil with farming projects in Linda, Railways, Maloni, and South Dambwa. Helping families grow food, earn income, and build better lives.

All these projects are happening in communities facing elephant–human conflict, as we work hard to support and strengthen urban wildlife conservation—finding ways for people and wildlife to safely coexist.

It’s all about creating a future where people and nature thrive side by side.

Hit play and see the impact for yourself, this is a change in action!.

CONSERVATION EDUCATION MEETS FOOTBALL IN MUKUNI VILLAGE!

Today our Conservation Education class spent a beautiful and energetic day in Mukuni Village, connecting with the amazing kids from the community. We held three friendly football matches Under 10, Under 12, and Under 14. The excitement on the field was just as powerful as the lessons shared.

Mixing conservation learning with football has proven to be one of our most effective and inspiring approaches. The game brings the children together, builds teamwork, and creates the perfect atmosphere to introduce important messages about protecting wildlife, respecting nature, and becoming young ambassadors for our environment.

Seeing the joy, energy, and curiosity from the kids reminded us why this work matters. Football opened the door conservation knowledge walked right in.

A big thank you to everyone in Mukuni Village for the warm welcome and to our dedicated learners for representing the spirit of conservation with passion!

Grateful to celebrate another year of life today

On your birthday, we reflect with deep gratitude on the journey of conservation and tourism especially the role you have been blessed to play in Elephant awareness and Conservation Education. Working with communities, young people, and partners to protect these gentle giants and inspire respect for our natural heritage continues to be our greatest passion and purpose.

Happy Birthday James!

We’ve officially kicked off our very first Conservation Boat Cruise!

What an exciting day as kids and community members from Railways experienced a boat cruise for the very first time! Smiles, laughter, and wide-eyed wonder filled the boat as we learned about conservation while enjoying nature from the water.

This marks the beginning of an amazing journey this year bringing conservation education to life in a fun, memorable way. More adventures, learning, and impact ahead!

🎄 Ending the Year in Style with Our Conservation Education Clubs! 🎄

What a beautiful way to wrap up the year! The Conservation Education Club from South Dambwa, Linda, Railways, and Maloni came together for an unforgettable end-of-year celebration with a joyful Christmas party.

For the first time, kids from all four sites partied together as one big family sharing laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. The day was filled with a fun movie session, lots and lots of popcorn, exciting Minute to Win It games, energetic dancing competitions, and endless smiles.

It was truly amazing to celebrate Christmas a little early and see the 711 children bonding, having fun, and ending the year on such a happy note. Moments like these remind us why conservation education is also about community, joy, and togetherness.

Thank you to everyone who made this day special. Here’s to an even brighter year ahead! 🌍❤️🎉
