Today we join the nation in celebrating Youth Day under the inspiring theme “Arise & Soar.”
The theme “Arise & Soar” resonates with our mission to empower young people with the tools, opportunities, and confidence they need to rise above limitations and soar toward their full potential.
As we commemorate this day, we encourage every young person to believe in their abilities, pursue their dreams, and use their voice to influence positive change in their communities.
Together, let us arise, take action, and soar to greater heights.

Today we join the rest of the country in commemorating International Women’s Day under the theme “Rights, Justice, Action: For All Women and Girls.”

This theme reminds us that achieving gender equality requires more than words ;it requires intentional action to protect rights, promote justice, and create opportunities for every woman and girl to thrive.
At Contact Trust Youth Association (CTYA), we remain committed to advancing the wellbeing and empowerment of women and girls through community engagement, health programs, education initiatives, and advocacy. We believe that when women and girls are empowered with knowledge, access to services, and supportive environments, they become powerful agents of change in their families and communities.
As we mark this important day, we reaffirm our commitment to championing the rights of women and girls, strengthening community partnerships, and supporting initiatives that promote equity, dignity, and opportunity for all.
Together, let us move from rights to justice, and from justice to meaningful action.

Contact Trust Youth Association (CTYA), through Support from the Churches Health Association of Zambia - CHAZ, joined the nation in commemorating the National Day of Prayer, Fasting, Repentance, and Reconciliation under the theme “One Nation under God: Consolidating and Harvesting National Development and Spiritual Resilience,” inspired by Genesis 8:22 and Acts 3:19.

As part of the day’s activities, CTYA took advantage of the national event to distribute Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials on immunisation. This initiative aimed to enhance community awareness and encourage increased uptake of immunisation services as part of the ongoing efforts to promote child health and wellbeing.

CTYA remains committed to supporting national health goals and strengthening partnerships that contribute to a healthier and more resilient Zambia.

Raising Champions for Child Immunization!

We are excited to announce that 19 members of the Pool Association have been trained as champions for child immunization! Most of these champions are men, proving the power of male involvement in ensuring every child is protected from vaccine-preventable diseases.

During the workshop, participants learned about the importance of vaccines, the role of the Under-5 card in tracking a child’s health, and how sports spaces like pool halls can be used to spread life-saving information.

The Pool Association has committed to using tournaments, leagues, and community gatherings to mobilize families, encourage fathers to support caregivers, and remind parents to always carry the Under-5 card.

Together, we are building a community where every child is protected, and every parent, mothers and fathers alike take part in safeguarding the future.

We have some thrilling news to share!

Through the transformative FAI Plus Project, we have successfully trained 19 dedicated pharmacists in the innovative approach of Values Clarification and Attitude Transformation (V-CAT)! These remarkable professionals are now empowered to deliver health services that are both youth-friendly and free from judgment, ensuring that every young person feels valued and respected.

One of the standout outcomes of this initiative. The launch of ongoing health talks within our communities! These engaging sessions are designed to elevate awareness around sexual and reproductive health, tackle pervasive myths, and inspire young individuals to seek the quality care they truly deserve.

Together, we are not just enhancing access to essential health services; we are also nurturing a strong foundation of trust and collaboration between health providers and the communities they serve. Let’s rally together to support our youth in their journey toward making informed and empowered choices!

Every community thrives when its young people are empowered to make healthy, informed choices. Yet, adolescents often face barriers when it comes to accessing accurate information and support around their sexual and reproductive health (SRH).

This week, CTYA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health under the FAI Plus (Frontliners Actors Initiative-Plus) project, convened a Values Clarification and Attitude Transformation (VCAT) training.

The training brought together parents, civic leaders, and traditional leaders—those who shape norms and influence decisions within communities. By equipping them with essential SRH knowledge and tools, we are fostering supportive environments where adolescents can confidently seek guidance, make informed choices, and avoid unintended pregnancies.

Step by step, we are building a future where young people are not only informed but also supported to thrive.
