Bridge of Hope Foundation-Zambia

Bridge of Hope Foundation-Zambia Founded in 2006 and registered in 2007 under the Societies Act. This gave birth to Bridge of Hope Foundation.

Bridge of Hope Foundation abbreviated (BoHF) is an organizations that is geared toward improving the quality of life of disadvantaged people. The origin of BoHF is Chipata district; it was initially formed by a group of concerned residents who were affected with H.I.V and AIDS in 2006. The inspiration was necessitated by glaring, challenges in health care, income, hunger and gender inequality in r

ural communities of Chipata district. In June 2006 a district programming probe was conducted with the involvement of individuals, local authorities at district level and traditional leaders as well as with community representatives who were concerned about the devastating effects of HIV and AIDS and wished to make a positive contribution to combating the spread of the disease, particularly among young people. The programme probe team made several recommendations, which included: creating an organisation to operate in Chipata district by establishing a district office presence in a manner that was both ‘light’ and ‘flexible’ which is exclusively dedicated to improving the quality of life of undeserved communities in Chipata district and outlying areas.
