As the world commemorates International Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026 under the theme Together for a , Pad-A-Girl Campaign joins the global call for collective action in ending menstrual stigma and promoting menstrual dignity for every girl and woman.
Menstruation is a natural part of life, yet many girls continue to face shame, discrimination, lack of sanitary products, and limited access to menstrual health education. This continues to negatively affect their confidence, health, and education.
As an organization, we believe creating a period-friendly world is everyoneβs responsibility. Menstrual health is not only a womenβs issue. Men and boys also have mothers, sisters, partners, daughters, colleagues, and friends whose lives are affected by menstrual health challenges.
We therefore call on men and boys to actively join the conversation around menstrual health and hygiene. Their involvement is key to breaking harmful myths, ending stigma, and building supportive communities where girls and women can manage their periods with dignity and confidence.
We also urge the media, schools, community leaders, policymakers, and cooperating partners to continue promoting accurate information and creating safe spaces for open conversations on menstruation.
Today, we call upon everyone to take action, educate others, support menstrual health initiatives, donate sanitary products where possible, and speak openly against period shame and misinformation. Together, we can ensure that no girl is left behind because of her period.
Let us all work together towards a . π©Έπ
