PRAYER SESSION 6TH AUGUST 2026

SCRIPTURE: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6.

Divine Direction is an indispensable asset to a child of God. This is because to hear God is to soar high in life. Light is key to flight. And not to hear God is disastrous to life and destiny.

One posture for hearing and receiving from God is, committing one’s steps in life to the Lord.

Psalms 37:5 says,
Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

To access Divine Direction, you must acknowledge the Lord in all you do. Don’t trust your brain to give you direction. In all the things you do, acknowledge God and He will direct your path.

This means, don’t take important steps or make important moves in life without checking it out with the Lord. Don’t make major decisions without involving God.

Always commit your steps unto the Lord and He shall direct you.

PRAYERS :

1. I will acknowledge You Almighty God in all I do in Jesus’ Name.

2. LORD I refuse to put my confidence in my brain, senses or abilities; I put my confidence in You Almighty God in Jesus’ Name.

3. Thank You Lord for showing me the pathway to Accessing Divine Direction. I receive the grace to acknowledge You always, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

What Qualities Define a Meek Person?

SCRIPTURE: The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. Psalms 25:9.

It has been confirmed that the quality of meekness is key to accessing Divine Direction. Pride on the other hand, is an enemy of Divine Direction.

The Scripture makes it clear that Moses was meeker than everyone in his generation, and he heard God more than everyone else in his generation. He encountered God more than everyone in his generation (Numbers 12:3-8).

Who is a meek person? He or she is someone who is not ashamed to turn back when he or she realises that the wrong move was made. A meek person says, “This move I made is a wrong move, so I must make a U-turn.” No matter how far you have gone in the wrong direction, make a U-turn when you discover you are wrong. This is meekness!

Never allow bankruptcy of meekness! Refuse to die with the wrong step than make a U-turn.

Determine never to live your life filled bankruptcy. Always be ready to make a U-turn whenever you realize you are on a wrong path.

PRAYER

1. LORD I resist every spirit of arrogance in my life, in Jesus’ Name.

2. LORD I make a choice to be teachable; be humble, and be meek, in Jesus’ Name.

3. Thank You Lord for showing me the quality of meekness as posture to accessing Divine Direction. I ask for the Spirit of meekness, in Jesus’ Name.

Our God is All faithful! The faithfulness of God should be made known by us as His own to the world.
The Lord in His faithfulness will do what He hears us say! Numbers 14:28

Our God knows all that concerns His people and He converts challenging situations into a testimony.

The Lord draw us to Himself in a new way and grant us fresh access into His Word.

All shall be well in Jesus' name

Prayer :

1. Father thank you for the new month that will bring my way the Lord's goodness and fruitfulness in the name of Jesus Christ!

2. Father I make demands on the month of August that it will not reject me and those connected, related, and associated to me for any reason, it's my season in the name of Jesus Christ!

3. Father I speak and command the month of August to know its place and cooperate with the Heavens in the name of Jesus Christ!

4. Father I decree and declare that the wickedness of the wicked shall be shaken out in this month and it shall be well with me in the name of Jesus Christ

5. Father every deposit in this month of August that has been put there by You Almighty God for me is delivered into my hands in Jesus’ Name!

SCRIPTURE: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matt. 5:14-16

Character is of prime importance in life and destiny. One’s character determines the degree of influence one can command in one’s generation.

A Christian is meant to be a standard bearer, a road pointer, or a pace-setter to his or her generation. We were designed by God to show the world how to behave. We are meant to colonize the world by our standards. The reason our world is degenerating today is that most Christians do not operate by standards Divinely set.

How does the Holy Spirit help us insure or maintain an upright character in a degenerating world?

The Holy Spirit is the Sponsor of righteousness (Romans 14:17). The Holy Spirit gives you peace, and supplies you joy and righteousness.

Anyone who knows how to fellowship with the Holy Spirit by praying in tongues abundantly is a person whose character will be continuously moulded and enhanced.
The Holy Spirit opens our eyes to insights from Scripture that can kill certain nature in us.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of liberty and transformation (2 Corinthians 3:17). That is, where the Spirit of the Lord is, we are not permitted to be bound by negative vices, immoral lifestyles, lying, bitterness, and other vices.

By the power of the Holy Ghost, I decree that any negative habit that has over-powered you is broken.

PRAYER :

1. Holy Spirit I key 🔑 into You to sponsor my righteousness, in Jesus’ Name.

2. Oh LORD consistently I will pray in the Holy Spirit abundantly, in Jesus’ Name.

3. Oh LORD by Your Help I will avoid anything that will defile my conscience, in Jesus’ Name.

4. Oh LORD I will consciously make demands on the help of the Spirit to live in uprightness, in Jesus’ Name.

Without a Fight, There Can be no Victory.

SCRIPTURE: For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4

The Scriptures have established that the just shall live by his faith (Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38). The meaning is, if the just must survive the battles of life, faith is not negotiable. But it may surprise you to also know that faith does not prevent battles. Some people say, I do not have faith; that is why I am always confronted. No! Faith does not prevent confrontations; it only gives the power to persistently overcome confrontations and dwell in the arena of conflict.

No one overcomes without fighting. No wonder, 1 Timothy 6:12 says, fight the good fight of faith. Anyone who is not ready for a fight is not ready for victory.

The fight of faith is nothing but the confrontation of conviction; it is the enemy trying to challenge what you believe. Faith only guarantees victory in the face of battle.

So, we are called to fight but destined to win.

For a challenge or confrontation to arise against you is not an evidence of lack of faith; it is bowing for defeat that is the evidence of lack of faith.

Declaration Prayer:
You may be facing a battle in your life right now, I decree, and declare that battle is over! Arise in victory by the weapon of faith, in the Name of Jesus Christ.

PRAYERS :

1. LORD I have realized am called to fight yet am destined to win life’s battles in Jesus’ Name.

2. By the strength of Prayer Lord I refuse to be afraid of the battles of life in Jesus’ Name.

3. Oh LORD I will engage my faith and Your Word Almighty God in the battles confronting me in Jesus’ Name.

Uprightness — The Dismantler Of the Gravitational Pull of Evil

Key 🔑 in Prayer and Remain Upright

SCRIPTURE: For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Romans 3:23 (NLT)

Uprightness makes people dwell in the sphere where God dwells, that is, the high places of the earth (Psalm 15:1-2). It is uprightness of life that lifted Abraham, Joseph and Daniel, and positioned them in the realm of relevance in their generation.

Uprightness of character eliminates the gravitational pull of iniquity.

Iniquity carries a gravitational pull; iniquity is a spiritual gravitational force. Iniquity is a weight. This is why the Scripture admonishes us in Hebrews 12:1 that we should lay aside every weight. Weight is a function of gravity. Iniquity has the capacity to pull people down. It is a weight that grounds a person. Weight is like a heavy stone that can crush a person. When a heavy stone is thrown up, do you expect it to remain up? No. It must land. In the same way, iniquity is a weight that pulls a person down.

Romans 3:23 says, For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The New Living Translation renders it thus: For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. So, sin makes people fall. This is why it is usually said that when people sin, they fall into; to sin is to fall.

What made Vashti, the queen of the Persian Empire, to fall was sin. She was right up as the first lady of an empire that covered one hundred and twenty provinces, stretching from Ethiopia to India, but she fell by the twin sin of rebellion and arrogance. Her husband, the King, asked her to come and show up her beauty to some royal guests at the King’s banquet, but she refused (Esther 1:10-12). That was how Queen Vashti crashed by the gravitational pull of iniquity.

Iniquity was also responsible for the crash of Lucifer. Isaiah 14:12 says, How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Samson also fell from grace to grass by the gravitational pull of iniquity (Judges 16:20-21). But when you walk in uprightness, that gravitational pull is eliminated.

Refuse to be pulled down in life by sin. Avoid the lifestyle of iniquity that pulls people down in life.

PRAYER :

1. Almighty God I refuse to be pulled down by iniquity as it has the capacity to pull down, in Jesus’ Name.

2. Almighty God I make up my mind to avoid the lifestyle of iniquity and compromise, in Jesus’ Name.

3. Almighty God I ask for the grace to live uprightly, in Jesus’ Name.

4. LORD, deliver me from evil and every trap of iniquity. I ask for the grace to live uprightly always, in Jesus Name.

What is Prayer?

SCRIPTURE: …give us this day our daily bread... Matthew 6:11.

Prayer has been seen as a major weapon for successful living. As children of God, prayer is important in order not for us to be preys of the devil. It takes aggressive praying to fulfil purpose in life.

As powerful as prayer is, many people cannot pray with results because they don’t know what prayer is all about.

Let’s understand the subject of prayer.

What is prayer?

i. Prayer is a platform for accessing our inheritance in God. …give this day our daily bread... Matthew 6:11

Prayer is the place where we can access our inheritance in God; we connect what God has in store for our lives at the place of prayer. Prayer gives us access to what belongs to us in God; it gives us access to our inheritance in God.

At redemption, God gave us our inheritance but that can be accessed only by prayers. We connect to God’s promises for our lives at the place of prayers. Our daily supplies from God are accessed at the place of prayer.

ii. Prayer is the platform for the maintenance of true holiness and Godliness.

…And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us or our debtors… Matthew 6:14.

We can see from the above scripture that at the place of prayer, we do not just ask God for things, we also receive cleansing; at the place of prayer, we receive the grace for the maintenance of true holiness and Godliness.

When we say, forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, we are asking God to cleanse us from sin. Praying keeps people from sin and sin keeps people from praying. Prayer is a platform for the maintenance of holiness and Godliness. It is the place where we renew our consecration, prayer is our altar of consecration.

When we pray for cleansing, it is called consecrational prayer. At the place of prayer, we have a platform where we approach God for the cleansing of our lives; we come before God to take a spiritual bath.

Make up your mind to access your inheritance and maintain holiness by the maintenance of a buoyant and fervent prayer life.

PRAYER :

1. Lord I make up my mind to access my inheritance in You Almighty God by praying always in Jesus’ Name.

2. Lord I will maintain a lifestyle of holiness by practicing what is right in Jesus’ Name.

3. Lord, I access what belongs to me in You by son-ship and redemption in Jesus’ Name.

4. Lord I receive the grace to maintain a lifestyle of holiness and uprightness by the practice of “consecrational” fasting and prayer in Jesus’ Name.

The Holy Spirit Empowers Faith!

Key Into Prayer And Remain Deepened

SCRIPTURE: We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak. 2 Corinthians 4:13.

The Spirit of God is the Spirit of faith. The Spirit of God is also the Spirit of boldness and authority (2 Timothy 1:6-7). The Spirit of God is an Activator of faith in the heart of man. The force of the Holy Spirit activates a person’s faith.

How does the Holy Spirit help your faith?

1. The Holy Spirit illuminates Scriptures and ushers the saints into depths of light.
The Holy Spirit throws light on the Word of God. And that pushes you into depths of light that would fuel the strength of your faith
(1 Corinthians 2:9-10).

When you take up a Scripture and pray in the Spirit, the Holy Spirit breaks the Scripture into simpler parts and ways. And then it is broken down into edible and absorbable bits and pieces.

2. The Holy Spirit uses the Scripture to construct faith in the heart of the child of God.
Jude verse 20 says, But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost

When you pray in the Holy Ghost, you are constructing your faith. The Holy Spirit is the Chief Construction Engineer.

PRAYERS :

1. Lord I will make praying in the Spirit a constant practice when studying the Scriptures in Jesus’ Name.

2. Holy Spirit illuminate, and usher me into depths of light. As I pray in the Spirit when am reading the Scriptures in Jesus’ Name.

3. Oh Lord I will allow the Holy Spirit to activate my faith in Jesus’ Name.

4. Lord, I receive the grace to pray in the Spirit consistently. Build my faith from the revelation of Your Word, in Jesus’ Name.

Key 🔑 in Prayer and Remain Focused

SCRIPTURE:
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2.

Ecclesiastes 7:17 says: Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?

Refuse to take focus away from where you are going. Disaster is inevitable when people lose their focus. When people are engaged in needless competition with each other instead of being focused on their individual assignments, disasters become imminent.

Face God and He will take you to your destiny.

Whenever you agree to strive, your focus is taken away from where you are meant to be going in life. When you agree to strive, another person becomes your focus. Strife makes another person’s success your focus. When there is no focus, disaster is inevitable. And focus is distracted where strife is established.

You must do what you have to do, with a steady of focus.

PRAYER :

1. Lord I refuse to lose focus in life; so do help me Almighty God, in Jesus’ Name.

2. Lord I will constantly avoid all forms of strife, in Jesus’ Name.

3. Father, thank You for showing me the danger of losing focus. I receive the grace to avoid strife and be focused in life, in Jesus’ Name.

I decree the breaking of every spell of distraction over your life in Jesus Name.
