Youth Summit Summary Report

On 31st July 2026, Trust and Friends Foundation (TAFF) participated in the Youth Summit held at Copperbelt University. The summit brought together young people, youth-led organizations, development partners, and other key stakeholders to discuss issues affecting the youth and explore opportunities for sustainable development.

The discussions focused on youth empowerment, leadership development, entrepreneurship, innovation, mental health, education, and active civic participation. Participants also had the opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and learn from experienced speakers and professionals from various sectors.

The summit provided an excellent platform for Trust and Friends Foundation to engage with other organizations, strengthen partnerships, and reaffirm its commitment to empowering young people through community development initiatives, education, and advocacy.

We would like to sincerely thank SOS Children’s Villages for giving us the opportunity to attend an Introductory Session About The Ombuds Approach and Role for SOS Children’s Villages Care Leavers.

It was an insightful and empowering session that provided valuable knowledge, understanding, and awareness on the importance of the Ombuds approach in supporting, listening to, and advocating for the voices of care leavers.

We appreciate the commitment of SOS Children’s Villages towards creating platforms that empower young people and promote their well-being.
