🌟 WISE STAFF SPOTLIGHT: MUCHIMA MUCHIMA

“Seeing young people overcome obstacles and achieve their educational goals gives me true satisfaction.”

Meet Mr Muchima Muchima, a valued member of the WISE Zambia Facilities and Support Team.

Born and raised in Kaoma, Western Province, Mr Muchima completed his primary education at Mulamatila Primary School and his secondary education at Presentation Secondary School. He later pursued a trade course in joinery at Kaoma Trades Training Institute, where he obtained a certificate.

Since joining WISE Zambia on 1 June 2023, Mr Muchima has helped maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for beneficiaries, staff members and visitors. His responsibilities include supporting the security of the organization’s premises and ensuring that its facilities and surroundings are properly maintained.

For Mr Muchima, his work is about more than maintaining the physical environment. It also provides an opportunity to guide and encourage young people as they navigate challenges and pursue their educational goals.

The greatest satisfaction comes from seeing beneficiaries respond positively to guidance, remain focused on their education and eventually use their knowledge and opportunities to contribute to their families, communities and the nation.

Since joining WISE Zambia, Mr Muchima has witnessed the organization’s continued growth, including the development of new infrastructure and an increase in the number of students receiving educational support.

📚 His message to beneficiaries:
“Please make the most of the educational opportunity and scholarship support you have received. Keep your goals alive in your heart, remain focused and work hard towards achieving them.”

🤝 His message to partners and supporters:

“Your support goes far beyond what you may imagine. By empowering vulnerable children and students today, you are bringing hope to their families, strengthening their communities and contributing to national development. You are transforming lives in meaningful ways. May the good Lord continue to bless you and keep you in good health.”

🌟 WISE STAFF SPOTLIGHT: STEPHEN LIMATA

“The greatest satisfaction comes from seeing former beneficiaries give back and support those following in their footsteps.”

Meet Stephen Limata, a Chartered Accountant and Accountant at WISE Zambia.

Born and raised in Kalabo, Stephen pursued his accounting studies at Evelyn Hone College and ZCAS University before obtaining a Master of Business Administration from the University of Lusaka.

At WISE Zambia, Stephen helps monitor, analyse and report on the organization’s financial health. His work supports accountability, informed decision-making and the responsible management of resources entrusted to the organization.

Stephen joined WISE Zambia in 2019, motivated not only by the opportunity for professional development, but also by the organization’s commitment to creating educational opportunities for underprivileged young people.

“I was attracted by the opportunities that WISE was—and continues to be—offering to less privileged learners,” he explains.

Since joining the organization, Stephen has witnessed remarkable institutional growth. The number of beneficiaries has increased and WISE’s reach has expanded beyond the borders of Kaoma. He has also seen the number of staff members double, alongside the opening of offices in Lusaka and Mongu.

During the same period, the organization’s budgets and programme expenditure have grown significantly—reflecting its expanding reach, strengthened operations and prudent stewardship of resources.

For Stephen, one of the most fulfilling outcomes is seeing former beneficiaries become capable of supporting others. Their willingness to give back demonstrates that WISE’s impact extends beyond individual educational achievement: it creates a continuing cycle of opportunity.

📣 Stephen’s message to beneficiaries:

“This is an opportunity of a lifetime—one that many others can only dream of. Please make the most of it, and when the time is right, do not hesitate to give back and support those coming behind you.”

🤝 His message to partners and supporters:

“Please do not grow weary in your philanthropic journey. The support you provide is priceless. It is transforming lives, expanding opportunities and strengthening communities.”

🌟 WISE STAFF SPOTLIGHT: NJEKWA RACHEAL

“WISE transformed my life through education and gave me an opportunity to build a meaningful career.”

Being part of WISE Zambia and working with Kaoma WISE Trust means a great deal to me.

My journey with WISE began when the organization supported my education from secondary school through to tertiary level. After completing my studies, WISE continued to guide and support me by connecting me to its sister organization, Kaoma WISE Trust, where I now serve as an Administrative Assistant.

Through this opportunity, I have developed valuable professional skills in narrative and financial report writing, proposal development, community engagement, and working with people from diverse backgrounds. I have also continued to participate in staff activities and programmes organised by WISE Zambia, strengthening my connection to the wider WISE family.

Today, I am proud to serve as a role model for the learners following in my footsteps. This responsibility means a great deal to me. By giving back, sharing my experience, and supporting others, I believe I am contributing to the continued growth and strength of the organization that helped shape my future.

I am deeply grateful to WISE Zambia and Kaoma WISE Trust for believing in my potential and empowering me to become the person and professional I am today.
