Entrepreneur Life - Trust the Process

Nobody told me that building a business would mean rebuilding yourself at the same time.

When I left banking for Meraki, I thought the hard part would be building the business - the funding, the competition. Finding customers. Making the numbers work.
And yes — all of that was hard.

But the hardest part? It was internal. It was unlearning the version of success I had been trained to want.
It was sitting with uncertainty when every instinct said ‘get back to safety’.
It was learning to trust my own judgment when I had no track record to point to.
In the early years, I made mistakes — costly ones. And what nobody prepares you for is the patience and discipline it takes to rise above them without losing yourself in the process.

There were seasons where I had no strategic framework, no model to follow, no blueprint designed for a Zambian woman building something like this from scratch. I was figuring it out in real time, often tired frustrated and scared.
And the emotional and mental fatigue that comes with that is real. The weight of carrying a vision, a team, and an expected standard of excellence day after day - when on some days all you are running on is faith.

But here is what I know now:
The mistakes were not detours. They were the curriculum.
The fatigue was not weakness. It was the cost of building something that matters.
And the discipline to keep showing up anyway — that is what separates those who build from those who almost did.

Your strategy matters. But who you become in the process matters more.
