For our female students, these handmade kits can mean fewer missed school days and the dignity to participate fully in their education.

She didn’t just receive hope. She sewed it. 🪡 That is what makes Sewing Hope so special. Our students are not simply being handed finished products. They are learning how to create something valuable with their own hands.🤲

Every careful measurement, every straight seam and every completed project says:
“I can learn.”
“I can create.”

“I can build a better future.”
The washable sanitary pads and matching bags made through this program will help our female students remain in school with greater dignity and confidence.

The sewing machines are ready, the fabric is waiting and our students are beginning a new journey of learning, creativity and opportunity.

🧵 Sewing Hope is becoming a reality! 🧵

The machines have arrived at Brook of Hope Home—and just look at the excitement on the faces of some of our students!

Along with the sewing and knitting equipment, we have also received a wonderful supply of colourful thread to help our students begin learning practical, creative skills.

Through Sewing Hope, both young women and young men will have the opportunity to learn skills that can build confidence, encourage independence and one day help them earn an income. Their first projects will include reusable sanitary pads and drawstring bags for our students, followed by other useful items as their skills develop.

This is more than learning how to sew. It is about dignity, opportunity and building brighter futures—one stitch at a time.

They will begin with washable sanitary pads and drawstring bags. As their abilities grow, we hope they will progress to fabric purses, clothing and eventually school uniforms.

This August, Brook of Hope Home will launch Sewing Hope, a new program teaching older students practical sewing, tailoring and entrepreneurship skills.

Their first project will be making washable sanitary pads and matching drawstring bags for our female students. As their skills grow, they will learn to create other useful items that may one day provide opportunities to earn an income. This is more than sewing. It is about dignity, confidence and brighter futures.

The introduction of free education has been an incredible milestone for our country, opening school doors for so many young people who deserve the chance to learn and grow.

With more children filling classrooms than ever before, our goal is simple: to stand alongside our local schools and support the work being done every single day.

Through our weekend tutoring program, we focus on small-group and one on one learning sessions. These intimate setups give students:

• A quiet space to ask questions and review tough topics.

• Personalized attention suited to their learning pace.

• Encouragement and mentorship from dedicated tutors.

Education is a team effort. By complementing what our students learn in the classroom with focused attention on the weekends, we are helping build strong foundations for their future.
