The ball was set rolling this past Saturday, 6th September 2025, as the Kabwe Youth Network took to the streets of Bwacha, Kabwe to bring the General Comment No. 26 closer to the people

Under the theme “Domesticating the General Comment 26” our young climate and environmental rights activists went door-to-door engaging households in powerful conversations about children’s environmental rights and the urgent need for action.

With passion and determination, the team not only spread awareness but also donated trees to households and individuals a true step toward creating greener, more sustainable communities.

This is what youth-led action looks like. Ensuring communities are informed, empowered, and part of the change

Youth Voices for a Greener Future!

On May 30th, 2025, young changemakers from Kabwe gathered for a powerful dialogue on holding extractive industries accountable and demanding environmental justice.

With support from Environment Africa Zambia and the Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association, the event brought together students, community youth, and leaders like His Worship the Mayor of Kabwe Mr. Patrick Chishala, George Kande, and Sula Nyangwe to speak truth, share lived realities, and demand real action.

From unsafe lead levels to policy gaps, we asked: “If the youth are left out, is the future really green?”

This is just the beginning.
