Happy Youth Day Isoka Deaf

From the 11th to 13th February 2026 I had an opportunity to be part of the capacity building training workshop which was held in Mpika Northern Rock Hotel. I represented the Deaf children multi -purpose cooperative society.

The host was International Labour Organization in conjection with Zambia Agency for persons with Disabilities (ZAPD). Various Organizations for persons with disabilities were in attendance from all the districts of muchinga Province.

Different lessons were taught executive leaders of OPDs such Good Governance and it's importance, providing social protection to persons with disabilities. How best we can help children with intellectual disabilities access education together with other peers as to promote inclusion. In addition s*x exploitation and abuse and how we can prevent child abuse and s*xual exploitation to children with disabilities. As a representative of the club , I learnt a lot and looking forward to go and share with my members ....

I was honored to represent the Deaf Children Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society at the Disability Summit, which was hosted by the Disability Resources Foundation on 30th August 2025 at the University of Zambia. The summit brought together various stakeholders, advocates, and organizations committed to promoting inclusivity and removing barriers faced by persons with disabilities.
The event provided a platform to share experiences, highlight challenges, and encourage collaboration toward building an inclusive society. As a representative, I had the opportunity to interact with different groups, exchange ideas, and learn from the voices of persons with disabilities, parents, and students.
This summit was not only a moment of pride for the Deaf Children Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society but also a call to action for continued advocacy, awareness, and empowerment of persons with disabilities in Zambia.

It has been a pleasure as a Deaf children multiple -purpose cooperative to be visited by our area member of Parliament Madam Majory Nakaponda as we as our District Commission Mr J Simbeye. On behalf of the cooperative and on my own behalf your visit has inspired us to continue working hard our cooperative does not only work with Deaf children it's also work with children with disability as we are making sure that no one is left behind.
