Today, we would like to shine a light on one of our longest-serving and most dedicated team members, Mr. Wisdom Phiri.
Wisdom has been part of the Kasanka Trust family for more than 10 years, serving as a Camp Attendant and Lodge Support staff member. Throughout his years with us, he has been known for his hard work, humility, dedication, and willingness to assist wherever needed. His contribution to the park, our guests, and his colleagues has been invaluable.
Sadly, Wisdom is currently facing a very serious health challenge. Sometime in April, he was bitten by a dog but unfortunately delayed seeking medical attention. A few days ago, after feeling unwell, he was taken to hospital for treatment. Medical examinations revealed that he had contracted rabies and that the disease had already progressed significantly.
Wisdom is currently admitted to a hospital in Lusaka, where doctors have advised that very little can be done medically at this stage. This has been devastating news for his family, friends, and colleagues who know and care deeply about him.
We are therefore reaching out to the wider community for any assistance, advice, or support that may help Wisdom and his family during this difficult time. Whether it is medical guidance, connections to specialists, prayers, words of encouragement, or any other form of support, we would be deeply grateful.
Please keep Wisdom and his loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.
