Are Young Girls Safe in Zambia? 😒

It is heartbreaking and painful to ask this question, but we must face the reality. Are young girls in Zambia safe anymore?
Shocking news of defilement is everywhere, often committed not by strangers but by relatives, neighbors or even pastors. Homes, schools and churches are no longer safe for a girl child.

This raises questions, Is it spiritual, moral collapse or failure in our laws and culture? We claim to value children yet every day another child’s innocence is stolen. Many are infected with STIs including HIV, some left with injuries, others end up been pregnant.

Defilement damages the body, the mind and the future of a girl child. Survivors suffer trauma, depression, stigma and many dropout of school. Trust is broken, futures are crushed and scars remain.

Defilement is not just another story, it is a national crisis. Parents, teachers, church leaders, police and every citizen must act. We must speak out, teach children their rights, create safe spaces and demand stronger laws to deal with perpetrators!Β‘

Zambia’s future depends on protecting our children today. A country that allows defilement without justice is walking toward destruction. Enough is enough. Let us protect our daughters and heal our nation.

I submit!!

Celebrating 8 Years of Impact Happy Anniversary, Teen Health Zambia! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Today, we proudly mark 8 incredible years of Teen Health Zambia, a journey filled with purpose, growth, challenges and remarkable achievements. Since our inception, we have remained dedicated to creating safe and inclusive platforms where teenagers across our communities can openly discuss the real issues affecting their lives.

Through open dialogues, mentorship programs, sports and other recreational initiatives, we have strived to empower young people with knowledge, confidence and opportunities to thrive. Our journey has not always been easy but every step forward has brought us closer to our mission of promoting teen health and well-being in Zambia.

These accomplishments would not have been possible without the support and commitment of our passionate staff, dedicated volunteers, generous partners and every single young person who has engaged with us along the way. Your belief in our cause fuels everything we do and for that, we are truly grateful.

As we celebrate this milestone, we look to the future with renewed energy and commitment to reach even more teenagers, build stronger communities and continue being a voice for young peoples health and empowerment.

Happy 8th Anniversary to the entire Teen Health Zambia members, supporters and partners!
Thank you for being part of this amazing journey.
