When Mothers Thrive, Communities Grow

As we approach Mother’s Day, we recognise the vital role mothers play in shaping families and building stronger communities in South Luangwa.

From nurturing children to supporting livelihoods, their strength and resilience are at the heart of community development. Yet many mothers still face challenges in accessing opportunities and support.

This season, we are working towards initiatives that empower mothers through skills, education, and sustainable opportunities.

Together, we can make a difference.

Floods in Mambwe have left a trail of unprecedented damage. Now that the waters have receded, the true extent of the destruction is clearly visible homes affected, crops destroyed, livestock lost, and many families left without their main sources of food and income.

Farmers who were depending on crops like maize and soya beans for income have been heavily impacted.

Just before harvest, the floods swept through and destroyed their fields, wiping out what would have been their earnings for the season.

This has not only disrupted daily life but has placed entire households in a very vulnerable position, as they now face the challenge of rebuilding from almost nothing.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who stepped in to help during this difficult time.

Your generosity, kindness, and quick response have made a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected.

Together, we continue to stand with the Mambwe community as they begin the journey to rebuild and recover.

Thank you for being part of this effort.
