A child’s wellbeing is closely connected to the wellbeing of the person caring for them.

For mothers raising children with special needs in Mfuwe and the wider South Luangwa community, caregiving can demand so much of their time that opportunities to earn a sustainable income become difficult to pursue.

But what if support went beyond immediate needs?

What if we equipped mothers with financial literacy, entrepreneurship skills, business opportunities and the support they need to build sustainable livelihoods?

Behind every child, there is someone who cares.

For many mothers raising children with special needs in South Luangwa, caregiving is more than a responsibility, it is a daily commitment of love, strength and sacrifice.

But while they care for their children, many caregivers face challenges in finding time and opportunities to build sustainable sources of income.

Supporting children means looking beyond the child alone. It also means strengthening the families and caregivers who stand beside them every day.
