Telescope Young Leaders of Africa Network (TTYLAN) is a division of The Telescope Journalistic Media International. It is intended to solve problems affecting the youth and to address issues affecting leadership on our continent and in the world as a whole. Its mission is to groom the young leaders of Africa to be able to identify most of the pertinent problems of Africa and to network to address
them. Its vision is to see an Africa that is economically empowered, democratically governed, technologically advanced and a place that is free from disease, poverty and all the other ills that bedevil our dear continent. Though recently established, it has gained a lot of membership across the whole of the African continent. We have youths and professionals from almost every country on the continent, being part of TTYLAN. Africa has a lot of problems but then Africa too has a lot of professionals. In most cases, the problems we face on the continent are as a result of the communities not knowing how to tackle their problems, due to culture and illiteracy. So what TTYLAN does is that, we look for problems on the continent and put together the right team of professionals to go and deal with the problems. We don't go to the communities to solve the problems, but rather, we go there to TEACH THEM how to solve them, so that even when we are gone, the people will be able to solve their problems on their own, without any outside help. That is to say, WE GO THERE TO LEAD THE PEOPLE TO SOLVE THEIR PROBLEMS. In simple terms, we don't go there to give them fish, but rather we will go there to teach them how to fish. We tackle the problems of Africa, one at a time, and by so doing, our members get to understand leadership and also become more patriotic to mother Africa.
