On a sad note 💔🕊️

It is with profound sadness that I have received the heartbreaking news of the passing of Getrude Kaila, a player from Twikatane FC competing in the FAZ Lusaka Province Women’s League, who passed away this morning.

On behalf of myself, in my capacity as FAZ National Women’s Football Representative and President of Women in Soccer Zambia, I wish to extend my deepest and heartfelt condolences to her family, teammates, friends, and the entire Twikatane FC family during this difficult time.

Women In Soccer Zambia(WISZ) this morning found time to deliver a small token of comfort and support to the mother of the late Gift Theresa Chilufya Musatila during this difficult and painful period.

Though no words can truly ease the pain of such a heartbreaking loss, this gesture was made as a sign of solidarity, compassion, and love from the women’s football family.

Gift’s passing remains a devastating loss to Zambian football, but her memory and impact will forever live on in the hearts of many.

May her soul continue to rest in eternal peace.

FIRST FEMALE COACH IN ZAMBIAN MEN’S FOOTBALL.

Former Zambia Women's National Football Team midfielder Kape Saili has made history, becoming the first woman to guide a men’s team to promotion into the top tier.

Congratulations to Kape Melissa Saili and the Makeni All Stars technical bench for securing promotion to the Zambia Super League.

This achievement is not just a personal victory—it is a powerful step forward for gender inclusion and progress in Zambian football.

VISIT TO PANZER GIRLS – ARAKAN BARRACKS.

Today, Colonel Priscilla Katoba, FAZ National Women’s Football Representative, President of Women in Soccer Zambia (WISZ), and Director of the International Military Sports Council (CISM) / United Nations Liaison Officer (UNLO), paid a visit to the Panzer Girls at Arakan Barracks as part of ongoing engagements with women’s football teams.

In her capacity, she oversees sports across the entire Zambia Defence Force—comprising the Zambia Army, Zambia Air Force, and Zambia National Service—while representing Zambia Defence Force sports at both continental and global levels.

She was accompanied by Colonel Lillian Maela, Chairperson of GBWFC, who reinforced key messages during the session. She emphasized the importance of education, discipline, and addressing critical social matters, while encouraging players to remain focused on their personal development and football careers.

The team captain expressed sincere appreciation for the visit and the knowledge shared, noting that such engagements play a crucial role in shaping players both on and off the field.

One of the players also shared her gratitude, stating that the session would have a lasting impact on behavior change. She encouraged her fellow teammates to embrace the lessons learned and to prioritize faith, discipline, and purpose in their football journeys.

Colonel Priscilla Katoba reaffirmed her continued commitment to empowering women in football through mentorship, guidance, and structured engagement.
