The collective coin contributions from Copperbelt students, market vendors, small-scale miners, and other residents played a pivotal role in reaching the K100,000 threshold necessary for President Hakainde Hichilema's presidential nomination filing.

This outcome demonstrates that even seemingly insignificant coins can aggregate to form a substantial amount of money. Rather than being trivial, coins can have a profound impact on an individual's life.

This experience serves as a testament to the power of collective effort and cooperation, similar to the Indian tradition of community pooling of resources to initiate small businesses that foster opportunities and enhance family well-being.

Zambian community should embrace the tradition and the spirit of collective effort and cooperation so that a significant growth in economy can be realized.

CHAVUMA TOWN COUNCIL SCOOPS BEST CDF PERFORMANCE AWARD

Chavuma Town Council has been recognized for its outstanding implementation of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) after scooping the Best CDF Performer Award for the period 2021–2026 during the just-ended CAPAH Expo held in Watopa, Kabompo District.

The prestigious award was presented in recognition of the Council’s exceptional performance in the utilization and management of CDF projects aimed at improving the livelihoods of the people of Chavuma District.

The recognition highlights the Council’s commitment to transparency, accountability and effective service delivery through successful implementation of community-driven development initiatives.

Speaking after receiving the award, the Council Secretary Mr. Isaac Kangombe expressed gratitude to Government, Chavuma Town Council Management and Staff ,cooperating stakeholders, Ward Development Committees and the people of Chavuma for the continued support and cooperation which contributed to the achievement.

The Council noted that the award reflects the collective efforts made in ensuring that CDF resources are translated into tangible developmental projects across the district.
Since 2021, Chavuma Town Council has successfully facilitated various developmental projects under CDF, including construction and rehabilitation of schools, health facilities, road infrastructure, empowerment programs and skills development initiatives targeted at uplifting local communities.

The Council has since reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining high performance standards and ensuring that development reaches all parts of the district in line with Government’s decentralization and community empowerment agenda.
