I FEEL A STRONG SENSE OF BELONGING

I’m Bernice Reddiar… My Superpower is that I teach!
I am the widow of a special man of God, Revd Kevin. The mother of three wonderful children and yet extended to six by their marriages. Overflowing in blessings, I have four gorgeous grandies. I mention my family because without their support, I would be lost.

Growing up in a family with six siblings, I was fortunate to have attended University. My passion was Law but finances precluded me from that and so I pursed an education degree, majoring in Music.
I felt that my life needed a change of direction and it was then that I studied towards an Early Childhood Development diploma.

This was probably the trajectory towards my arrival and subsequent journey with the SAVF some 20 years after qualifying and working in various schools.
When applying for the position of Principal of SAVF Kalinka Educare KZN, what attracted me were the following requirements…. exactly the ones I had been praying for an opportunity to be a part of:

1. Uplifting communities
2. Nurturing a love for learning among children
3. Empowering teachers/staff

I’M STRONGER BECAUSE I BELONG …. To an organization that wanted to employ someone who felt drawn to meet people at their point of need and whose mantra was to make people belong and where the vision was the same.

My challenges along the way have indeed been tantamount to catastrophically, but because of my strong sense of belonging, they have been overcome with support, love, chastisement, constructive criticism, appraisal and most of all a common goal to change lives. It’s been six years since I started this journey, but it seems like a lifetime because the bonds of friendship, family and support just get stronger.

I may be loud but I am proud that I belong in SAVF!!!
My challenges along the way have been tantamount to catastrophically. Still, because of my strong sense of belonging, they have been overcome with support, love, chastisement, constructive criticism, appraisal, and most of all a common goal to change lives. It’s been six years since I started this journey, but it seems like a lifetime because the bonds of friendship, family, and support just get stronger...

Vegetable greenhouses.
