We've enjoyed hosting the Aviation for Good team this week!
Rachel, Iain, and Cathy have had a hands on look at what we do (even helping put the plane away!) and meeting the team behind each project and flight that we do.

They will be flying down with our pilots to eSwatini tomorrow for a eye outreach and then to see the team of doctors off on Sunday as they leave for Kalahari Wings 13.

Mercy Air Home School Day 🎒✈️

Mercy Air hosted a local home school group for a morning of fun activities, learning about Mercy Air's helicopter and aeroplane, and what we do. It was a fun morning together and great to expose this group to missions aviation in Southern Africa. Thanks to everyone who came!

We’re excited to welcome the Aviation for Good team to Mercy Air today!

Over the next few days, we’re looking forward to showing the team what we do and later this week we'll be flying together to support medical teams on the ground in Eswatini.

It's a joy to work alongside partners who share our passion for aviation and reaching isolated communities!

✈️ We’re going to see Aviation for Good in action.

Next week, members of the Aviation for Good team will be travelling to South Africa to spend time with our delivery partner, Mercy Air.

This visit is an opportunity to see how aircraft can provide vital access to communities that are otherwise difficult to reach.

Later in the week, we'll be taking to the air ourselves, travelling with Mercy Air and meeting medical teams supporting communities in Eswatini.

We'll be sharing the journey and the people behind it along the way.

Because sometimes aviation isn't simply about getting from A to B.
It's about bridging the gap between isolation and opportunity.

Great to work with the Rescue South Africa team again. Thank you for a successful exercise together!

Our fixed wing team together with a team from Rescue South Africa attended the SADC simulated exercise in Nacala, Mozambique.

This exercise was part of ongoing preparedness for the regular cyclone and flooding seasons that affect Mozambique and which Mercy Air and partner organisations like Rescue South Africa are on standby for each season. This was a valuable opportunity to meet neighbouring disaster agencies and to share our capabilities with the broader disaster response community.

Our helicopter team spent two weeks in the Lesotho highlands, partnering with Lesotho Mountain Discipleship, Lesotho Flying Doctors, MAF-Lesotho and LOKISA.

What would otherwise have required multiple day trips by foot or on horseback using mountain roads was accomplished safely and efficiently over several short flights.

During these two weeks 30 remote communities received medical services, 3 communities received sanitation installations and the Mountain Discipleship team
taught a group of 15-20 women and held regular prayer meetings and bible studies.

This is the difference aviation makes: getting the right people and resources to the right place, when it matters most. 🙏

We flew with a team of six volunteers from to Mozambique to spend a week serving alongside our partners at Mozaic. The team spent the week doing practical hands-on projects as well as time out in the local community teaching and sharing their faith.

Thank you to everyone who made this trip possible, and to Mozaic for hosting our team with such warmth. Thank you to each of our volunteers, what a blessing to serve together!

In just two days in Thohoyandou, our Flying for Life outreach — in partnership with Mission Aviation Fellowship South Africa — helped treat a record 25 cataract patients.
