Come and experience M.A.D Day at Nyoni Education Hub, White River.

Friday, 18 September | 09:00–12:30 | Gr 4-12

🎶 MUSIC – Marimbas with CMDA
Learn to play the marimbas with a coach from Casterbridge Music Development Academy (CMDA) and experience the energy of making music together.

🎨 ART – Create with a local artist
Explore your creativity through an engaging, hands-on art experience with an experienced local artist.

💃 DANCE – Find your rhythm
Learn a dance with a talented dancer from Rhythm Image Dance Studio and have some fun moving to the beat!

The morning will run as a rotation, giving everyone the opportunity to experience all three modalities, meet other young people and learn in the way we believe children learn best — through experience, participation, creativity and connection.

🎵 CMDA, based on the school premises, uses music as a powerful tool for youth development, education and community transformation. Through its programmes and opportunities, CMDA encourages young people to develop their talents, build confidence and celebrate our rich South African heritage.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who made this benefit concert such a meaningful success.

Thank you to Majozi for an incredible live performance and for sharing your music and heart with our community. Thank you to Stille Woning Guest House for generously providing accommodation, Magnolia Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge White River for the prize, and the Uplands Founders & Friends Weekend for partnering with the CMDA and supporting the event every step of the way.

After immense financial strain and a catastrophic fire that destroyed its hub, studio, instruments, and equipment, CMDA will officially suspend operations from 31 March 2026. This is a deeply painful moment — but it is not the end. The Board is now focusing on raising funds to rebuild, replace what was lost, and work toward resuming hub operations in the future.

CMDA has poured so much into the lives of young people through free music education and creative opportunities. Now we need the community to rally behind us.
