On 1 August, Round Table Westville 189 once again put the R10 Project into action — and what a result! 🙌🏼

Together with the incredible community at Westville Village Mall SPAR, we collected and purchased R7,400 worth of essential goods for two incredible beneficiaries: It’s Giving and The Baby Hope House, Sarnia. ❤️

🍞 116 loaves of bread
🥪 Enough bread to make 1,044 sandwiches
🥜 Enough jam, butter & peanut butter to fill every sandwich
👶 Enough baby food to stock The Baby Hope House's shelves for approximately one month
🧴 Additional essentials, including baby wipes and spreads

And all of this was made possible in just 3 hours at the mall, with 24 total man-hours going into the planning, collection and distribution.

A massive thank you to Westville Village Mall SPAR for welcoming us, supporting the project and giving us the platform to make this impact. Your support helped make the day possible. 🙏🏼

A special thank you to Estee, our ever-reliable MVP, for once again going above and beyond. 💪🏼

Thank you also to Jodi from It’s Giving for giving us the opportunity to make an impact in an area we hadn't previously explored.

💛 Join Round Table Westville 189 for the R10 Project

This Saturday, 1 August 2026, we’re inviting our community to make a real difference—using just R10.

Here’s how it works:

When you arrive at Westville Village SuperSPAR, a member of Round Table Westville 189 will hand you R10. Simply take that R10 into the store and use it to purchase an essential item such as a loaf of bread or a baby product.

All donated items will go directly to Baby House Sarnia and It’s Giving, two incredible organisations that provide care and support to vulnerable families in our community.

If you’d like to contribute a little extra, you’re more than welcome to add additional items to your basket. Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps bring hope to someone who needs it most.

Our Annual General Meeting was held on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, at the Westville 189 Clubhouse — an evening defined by reflection, camaraderie, and clear intent for the year ahead.

We were privileged to be joined by our fellow Tablers from Round Table Margate 46 and Round Table Kloof190 , alongside our esteemed Area Chairman, . We also welcomed our respected 41ers, Dean Matthewson and former Round Table Southern Africa President Tim Brauteseth.

This past year, we made a deliberate strategic decision to step back from large-scale standalone projects and instead channel our energy into supporting the initiatives of fellow Tables across our Area. The result was powerful: stronger relationships, deeper collaboration, and meaningful connections — not only within our immediate region, but with clubs abroad as well.

With over a dozen raids completed and hundreds of kilometres travelled, the year was anything but quiet. It was one of presence, partnership, and purpose.

Congratulations to all trophy recipients on well-earned recognition. A special acknowledgement goes to , our outstanding Gem of the Year — a title truly deserved.

Congratulation to the incoming counsel and our incoming Chairman Mr. Stephan Visage.

A special thanks to our outgoing chair Mr. David Theunissen, who has led us tirelessly for the past two years, and set a great example for the rest of us.

Onwards and upwards, gentlemen. Here’s to building on this momentum and delivering an even more impactful 2026.
