The Robin Hood Foundation is an NPO that was formed in 2005 and registered as an NPO in 2007 and is run by a team of trustees who all work on a voluntary basis. The Robin Hood Foundation aims to mobilize resources from businesses and individuals to poor grannies and needy mums in disadvantaged communities. The people that are helped are known personally by the church workers and community workers and all donations are handed directly into the hands of people who need them. The Robin Hood Foundation has three major projects which run during the course of each year that we are appealing for funding for, namely:

1. Love the Babies: Supplying bags of unwanted and used baby clothes and goods to needy mums with new-born babies in poor Aids affected communities.

3. Bless a Granny & Grandpa: Elderly “forgotten” folk at old age homes are given a wrapped gift at Christmas, Valentines, Mothers & Fathers Day containing toiletries and treats and sweets.

4. Child Headed Households projects are hosted every term in order to provide some relief and hope to the orphaned and vulnerable children highlighted to us by the Christian Social Services and other community liaisons through our HOPE projects, due to alarmingly inflated figures of children orphaned to AIDS in KZN. The joy, connection and laughter of our Bless A Granny and Grandpa campaign! We aim to visit 24 old aged homes in the next two months, handing out close to 3000 present to our elderly - a day that they look forward to the entire year. We laugh, we sing, we dance, we eat cake at 8am, because we can. For many this will be their only present and for some the only visit!

HOW DO YOU FIT 5 VOLUNTEERS + 90 LOVE THE BABIES BAGS INTO ONE CAR - With a squish, a squeeze, lots of laughs… and a whole lot of love!

Another beautiful morning at St Mary’s Hospital Maternity Ward, where we arrived with a car absolutely filled to the brim. 5 volunteers, 90 Love the Babies bags and barely an inch to spare!

We are always grateful for donations of:

Wet wipes
Pre-loved baby clothing (0–18 months)

Dear Friends,

IT’S PARTY TIME AT ETHEMBENI!

On Friday, 16 October 2026, we’re heading back to Ethembeni for the Celebration of Life morning filled with music, dancing, laughter, rides, treats, games and LOTS of love!
Ethembeni is home to 145 children from Grade R to Grade 7, many of whom live in the school’s boarding hostels, far from their families.
This is their day. A day to forget about limitations, have fun and simply celebrate being wonderfully, uniquely THEM.

Some incredible sponsors are making this day possible and the children will be having a blast on the day with:

DJ Lloyd Paul and plenty of dancing
Face painting, balloons & games
Rides, slides & inflatables
Ice cream, popcorn, juice & treats
A delicious lunch

We are still looking for some donations toward the items for the 145 party pack for each child. So if you could donate 145 of the items on the list (one per child) or make a monetary donation it would be incredible.

WHAT DOES A SUCCESSFUL, MEANINGFUL MAHALA DAY LOOK LIKE?

It looks like two NPOs working together.
It looks like 22 incredible volunteers.
It looks like one truck overflowing with generosity: pre-loved clothing, shoes, linen, blankets and homeware.
It looks like 200 bags of maize.
200 Hope Jars.
350 loaves of bread.
And most importantly…

It looks like 200 very happy, very deserving people receiving a little bit of love, care, dignity, and a whole lot of spoiling.
This is what happens when people come together with one simple intention: to make someone else’s day a little brighter.

And a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this day possible. These days don’t happen alone - they take a whole community of support.
Thank you to Zoe, Carl, Billy from Usizo-lomndeni.org and all their wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly serving in their community of Ezimangweni. This week, 90 new mums received a Love the Babies Bag — filled with essentials, love, care and hope.

A huge thank you to our incredible community who donate pre-loved baby clothes, knitted treasures and toiletries to make these bags possible.
And to the beautiful ladies who donated toiletries and sanitary products at our Women’s High Tea, thank you for showing such love to women you may never meet.
Because no matter our circumstances, motherhood connects us all, the joy, the love, the worry and the challenges.
We feel so blessed to play a small part in spreading a little joy to these new mums and their precious babies.

Sterilizing animals in South Africa is vital to stop pet overpopulation, ease the burden on local rescue organizations, and prevent the unnecessary abuse and neglect as well asthe euthanasia of healthy cats and dogs.

At Robin Hood, we support local animal organizations with sterilization as well as food and blankets

Dear Friends, in December we would love to spoil 40 girls (ages btw 4 and 18) at a Children's Home with their own Mahala Market, where they can shop for clothing and shoes. So we are asking if you could please consider us when you clean out your kid's cupboards this spring. Or if you are able to donate some new items too, it would be so appreciated.

Gently used clothing and shoes.
NEW underwear.
Girls Accessories

We are also looking to take with us on the day:

Children's books
Boardgames and toys
Toiletries
Treats (biscuits, sweets etc)

Welcome September - Happy Spring!

At the Robin Hood Foundation we are also passionate about the welfare of the animals in the communities we serve. We partner with many rescue organizations in their quest to slow down the cycle of breeding, which leads to abuse and neglect. We focus on sterilization and feeding. Over the last year we contributed towards the sterilization of 67 animals!
