The Robin Hood Foundation is an NPO that was formed in 2005 and registered as an NPO in 2007 and is run by a team of trustees who all work on a voluntary basis. The Robin Hood Foundation aims to mobilize resources from businesses and individuals to poor grannies and needy mums in disadvantaged communities. The people that are helped are known personally by the church workers and community workers

and all donations are handed directly into the hands of people who need them. The Robin Hood Foundation has three major projects which run during the course of each year that we are appealing for funding for, namely:

1. Love the Babies: Supplying bags of unwanted and used baby clothes and goods to needy mums with new-born babies in poor Aids affected communities.

3. Bless a Granny & Grandpa: Elderly β€œforgotten” folk at old age homes are given a wrapped gift at Christmas, Valentines, Mothers & Fathers Day containing toiletries and treats and sweets.

4. Child Headed Households projects are hosted every term in order to provide some relief and hope to the orphaned and vulnerable children highlighted to us by the Christian Social Services and other community liaisons through our HOPE projects, due to alarmingly inflated figures of children orphaned to AIDS in KZN. Our FB page is to share the communities amazing assistance in all our projects. If you'd like to get involved, please email [email protected] and help us make a difference today.

πŸ“’ Exciting News, Hillcrest! πŸ“’

We are delighted to announce a brand-new Robin Hood Foundation donation drop-off point in Hillcrest!
Thanks to the kindness and generosity of Tamlyn and her wonderful team at Nielson Academy of Learning.
Every bag of clothing, every blanket, every toy, book, toiletry, baby item, or household donation helps us support the many people we serve throughout the year.
Often, the items sitting unused in our cupboards can become exactly what someone else desperately needs.

New Drop-Off Point: Nielson Academy of Learning
1 Commonage Road (Entrance on Hospital Road), Hillcrest
Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm and Saturday: 8:00am – 2:00pm

Together, we can turn unwanted items into dignity, comfort, hope, and opportunity.
Clear a cupboard. Fill a bag. Change a life.

"Because of you, what was once loved is now changing lives." We had the most Incredible Thrift Market!

To every person who came out on Saturday to shop, browse, enjoy a coffee, hunt for bargains, and support our cause - thank you. Every purchase made a difference and will help us continue serving babies, children, new and single moms, Granny's and Grandpa's, and families facing difficult circumstances in our communities.
A special thank you to everyone who donated their beautiful pre-loved items. What may have been no longer needed in your home has now been transformed into hope, care, and support for someone else.

To our incredible volunteers - wow! Weeks of sorting, washing, folding, pricing, packing, loading, unloading, setting up, serving customers, and packing away again. You gave your time, energy, and hearts so generously.

Thank you to Westville Country Club for generously hosting us and providing such a wonderful venue and welcoming atmosphere.

And to the talented Rene Tshiakanyi, thank you for creating such a fabulous vibe and filling the morning with music, energy, and joy.
Together, we proved once again that when a community comes together, amazing things happen. Thank you for helping us turn pre-loved treasures into meaningful change.

DOUBLE SARMIE DAY = DOUBLE THE FUN & DOUBLE THE IMPACT! πŸ₯ͺπŸ₯ͺ
We kicked off the day in Kloof with our incredible weekly Sarmie Army volunteers, who rolled up their sleeves and made over 1,100 sandwich packs (2,200 sandwiches) for the five schools we support every week.
To make the morning even more special, we had a surprise visit from the hilarious Kevin Fraser, who joined his wonderful mom Cecily - one of our long-standing volunteers, to help spread some peanut butter, laughter, and love!
But the day didn't end there...
We then raced down the road to CHEP, where their amazing team was hosting a Sustainability Morning. Their staff jumped straight into action and made an additional 312 sandwich packs (624 sandwiches), which were donated to the learners at Fulton School for the Deaf.
That's a grand total of 1,412 sandwich packs and 2,824 sandwiches made in just one morning!
Thank you to our team of Vollies and our amazing donor BB Bakeries , whose ongoing support makes this programme possible week after week.

Last week Wednesday we did our second Sarmie Army with Araujo Attorneys and the amazing agents from Tyson Properties Umhlanga

Thank you to Northwood Crusaders Sports Club and Saders Kitchen for the venue and snacks.

Thank you Araujo Attorneys for your amazing and continued support.

In their words....

𝗦𝗔π—₯π— π—œπ—˜ 𝗔π—₯𝗠𝗬 π—œπ—‘ π—”π—–π—§π—œπ—’π—‘
What an incredible morning! The Araujo Attorneys joined forces with the Robin Hood Foundation for their Sarmie Army initiative at Crusaders and the amazing crew from Tyson Umhlanga, alongside volunteers across Durban North, to make 1800 sandwiches for the Domino Foundation to help feed underprivileged children at schools in our local North Durban community.
Seeing everyone pitch in - cutting, spreading, wrapping, and laughing - was a reminder of what community is all about. Small acts, big impact.
If you’re in the Durban North or Umhlanga community, we’d love for you to join us next time! Bring your friends, your family, your team β€” many hands truly make light work, and an even bigger impact.
πŸ“… Keep an eye out for our next Crusaders Sarmie Army in July.
Let’s grow this movement together.
Let’s show up.
Let’s give back to our wonderful North Durban Community.

The Work You Don't Always See
When people think of The Robin Hood Foundation, they often think of our larger projects - Bless a Granny & Grandpa, Love the Babies, Mahala Markets, Sarmie Army, and our school programmes.
But behind the scenes, every week and every month, there is another side to what we do.
It's the quieter work. The urgent work. The deeply personal work.
It's helping 10 orphaned children with food and essential supplies so they can stay in school and continue to dream of a better future.
It's gifting deserving matric girls with beautiful dresses for their matric dances.
It's responding to families who have lost everything in a shack fire and helping them rebuild with dignity.
It's finding a wheelchair for someone who has been unable to leave their home for months.
It's supporting a single mother who is doing everything she can to provide for her children.
It's partnering with shelters like Tent City, which cares for more than 90 vulnerable and homeless people, helping them with clothing, toiletries, bedding, and essential items.
It's working alongside dedicated community organisations, social workers, churches, pastors, and grassroots NPOs who know their communities best and help us ensure donations reach those who need them most.
These stories may not always make it onto social media. There are no big events, no banners, and often no photographs.
But they matter.
Because sometimes changing a life isn't about helping hundreds of people at once. Sometimes it's about helping one person through a difficult season and reminding them that someone cares.
To every donor, volunteer, supporter, and partner who entrusts us with your generosity - thank you. Every item donated, every rand given, and every act of kindness allows us to continue saying "yes" when someone needs help.
Together, we are changing lives - one person, one family, and one community at a time.
