CAST MOVE BEYOND CHARITY

We journey with the Church to restore the peace and justice of God in the world. Get in touch to be part of our journey! How?

We do this through aligning, equipping and empowering local churches to transform their communities. Moving Beyond Charity: CAST

What is CAST? The Church Alliance for Social Transformation (CAST) is a registered non-profit organisation that mobilises and equips local churches for compassionate action among the poor in their communities. The programmes we run focus on uplifting and developing 13 c

ommunities in the eThekwini and Ilembe districts: Mariannridge, Chesterville, Lamontville, Westville, Phoenix, KwaDabeka, Noodsberg, Chibini, Edamini, Esikhawini, KwaDabeka, KwaNdengezi, and Durban Inner-City. CAST is empowering communities through providing these practical programmes that address social issues and can be implemented by local volunteers. Journeying together for Peace & Justice πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ

At our Imbizo, we explored what it means to faithfully participate in building the Kingdom of God here on earth, and consider how we, as an Alliance of churches, can actively contribute to a world shaped by peace and justice - beginning in our own neighbourhoods.

If you would like to learn more about what we do, get in touch or visit our website via this link: https://www.cast.org.za/what-we-do/

This is the day that the Lord has made πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ

On Saturday, we met with leaders from our partner churches and organisations for our Imbizo - a time for meaningful gathering, dialogue, and shared discernment.

It was an opportunity for us, as the Body of Christ, to come together in unity and intentionally engage with the CAST vision and mission we believe God has entrusted to His Church.

What a blessing to be part of this beautiful ministry togetherπŸ™πŸ™

✨Becoming the Light✨

Since last year, we have been journeying with Ngwelezane Baptist Church near Empangeni in Northern KZN, guiding them towards fulfilling their Masihambisane vision of becoming a "Beacon of Hope" in their community through exploring our Purple People material and implementing outreach initiatives that serve local schools and destitute people within their community.

This month, the church celebrated National Nurses Day by visiting two clinics in Empangeni to gift the nurses with small tokens of appreciation, encourage them through the Word, and pray with them. They also visited Ingweni Primary School to bless learners in need with personal hygiene packs, including toiletry bags donated to CAST.

Get in touch if you'd like to find out more about our Masihambisane journey with churches!

Learning to lead towards the Kingdom of God πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ

This past weekend, our Just Leaders class gathered for the second time this year to build on their understanding of God's dream for the world and reflect on their role to restore God's Peace, Justice and Righteousness in their communities.

Please keep this group in prayer as they continue working towards this vision πŸ™πŸ™

Journeying Together to see His Kingdom come in our world πŸ™πŸ™

We are so excited to see our Masihambisane journey with Savannah Park Baptist Church bring together members of the church and community to implement fundraising strategies that will support the church's programmes. Since connecting with a partner organisation at our Imbizo last year, the church has taken great strides to turn this vision into a reality through introducing new skills development programmes and Bible Studies facilitated by Upskill Africa Initiative πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ

πŸ™ Help us grow this work sustainably by donating sewing machines and material, and get in touch if you’d like to learn more about Masihambisane!
