CAST MOVE BEYOND CHARITY

We journey with the Church to restore the peace and justice of God in the world. Get in touch to be part of our journey! How?

We do this through aligning, equipping and empowering local churches to transform their communities. Moving Beyond Charity: CAST

What is CAST? The Church Alliance for Social Transformation (CAST) is a registered non-profit organisation that mobilises and equips local churches for compassionate action among the poor in their communities. The programmes we run focus on uplifting and developing 13 communities in the eThekwini and Ilembe districts: Mariannridge, Chesterville, Lamontville, Westville, Phoenix, KwaDabeka, Noodsberg, Chibini, Edamini, Esikhawini, KwaDabeka, KwaNdengezi, and Durban Inner-City. CAST is empowering communities through providing these practical programmes that address social issues and can be implemented by local volunteers. In Esther 4:14, Esther is told that if she stays silent, help will come from somewhere else. Then she is asked: who knows whether you are here for such a time as this?

Let us come together to reflect on this question as we start looking ahead to our plans for 2027.

Join us for our final Alliance Imbizo of 2026 as we reflect on Esther’s challenge: “For such a time as this.”

Together, we’ll listen, reflect and ask what it means to be a prophetic people who see differently, imagine God’s alternative, and live it together as we look towards 2027.

While the cost is free, spaces are limited. Be sure to RSVP via the link below or contact us for more details.

We recently congratulated the 10 participants who completed four months of sewing training through the Savannah Park Baptist Church Sewing Project facilitated by Upskill Africa Initiative 👩🏽‍🎓🧑🏽‍🎓🙌

This is a beautiful story of God’s work through partnership and alliance connected through our Ibandla Malivuke Conference and hope that the skills gained will enable participants to create opportunities for themselves, their families, and the wider community 🙏🙏
