ISD invites South African universities, research institutes and specialist consultancies to submit proposals for independent research on social cohesion in mining-host communities.

This research will help build an evidence base for stronger social dialogue, improved sector practice and more inclusive approaches to community development across South Africa’s mining belts.

Focus areas include: social license to operate, social dialogue, shared value, traditional leadership and municipal structures, SLP effectiveness, and the future of mining communities.
