Thank You for Three Months of Hope at Hillcrest Primary
Dear NFC Networking for Christ Team and COA Coordinator,
I am writing to you as Miss Louw, Communication Teacher at Hillcrest Primary, on behalf of our learners, staff, and school community. We wanted to put into words the gratitude we carry for what you made possible these past three months.
Three months ago, Hillcrest was struggling our staff were stretched beyond their limit. We were doing our best, but we could see learners slipping through the cracks—quiet children who needed extra help, lessons that had to be rushed, and tired teachers who went home with work still undone.
Then you sent us Aurinn Mckay and Rickelle Finish.
Through the NFC Networking for Christ program, Aurinn and Rickelle joined us as teacher assistants. For 90 days they walked into our school each morning with energy, patience, and a belief that every child could learn.
They did more than assist in class. They stayed after hours to help prep, supported learners during breaks, and reminded our staff that we were not alone in this work. Knowing they were being paid and supported by NFC gave them the freedom to focus fully on the children—and it showed in every lesson.
What made this possible was the COA coordinator who arranged the extra hand for us. You saw the need, acted quickly, and matched us with two assistants who fit our school like they had always been part of Hillcrest. Because of you, our teachers could breathe again, our learners felt seen, and our classrooms became places of hope instead of stress.
The impact will not end now that Aurinn and Rickelle’s time with us is over. The confidence they built in our learners, the routines they helped establish, and the encouragement they gave our staff will stay with us. Hillcrest Primary is forever grateful.
To NFC Networking for Christ: thank you for investing in schools and for proving that your work is about more than programs—it’s about people.
To the COA coordinator: Miss Chane Hendricks thank you for being the bridge that connected us to the help we desperately needed.
And to Aurinn and Rickelle: thank you for showing our children what it looks like to be cared for and believed in.
As we move forward, we carry a message of hope with us. When people show up for each other, schools don’t just survive—they grow.
With sincere thanks
Miss I Louw
