🗓️ Mark 10 May on your calendar: is almost here!

Bird populations are in decline and urban hazards, from glass collisions to light pollution, are pushing many migratory birds to the brink.

How can we create bird-friendly cities & communities? 🐦
-Designing greener cities.
-Making windows visible to birds.
-Diming the lights after dark.
-Keeping cats supervised.
-Planting native species & skipping pesticides.

When cities work for birds, they work better for people too. Join the global movement on 10 May and help spread the word! 📣

Did you know the Peregrine Falcon is not only the fastest bird on the planet—hitting speeds of up to 380 km/h during flight—but also a true master of urban life? Once pushed to the brink, these incredible raptors have adapted to city life, turning skyscrapers, ancient towers, bridges, and nest boxes into their new cliffside homes.

By night, the birds use artificial lights to hunt, and by day, they navigate the urban skyline just as they once did in the wild. But as urban sprawl continues, their future depends on us! Protecting their crucial nesting sites and hunting grounds, establishing bird-friendly in and around cities, and supporting conservation efforts can help keep these famous hunters thriving. Let’s work together to allow the Peregrine Falcon remain a breathtaking sight in our cities! 🏙️🦅

Humanity wonders at the natural world but fails to value it and because nature is free, we often take it for granted and overexploit it.

When we overlook the benefits it provides, we create significant social and economic costs for ourselves. It’s time to take action and protect the very ecosystems that sustain us.

💧 More than just water, wetlands are home.

🌱 The healthier the wetland, the healthier the community.

Wetlands are home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, contributing to a rich biodiversity that can be a source of food and livelihood for many. They also offer recreational opportunities, serving as places for people to connect with nature and each other.

Wetlands are home to a huge and diverse population of plants and animal life. They provide a range of vital natural services, like providing clean water, strengthening climate resilience and acting as essential carbon sinks for our warming planet. But protecting them requires coordinated action from governments, businesses and communities.

💚 If we get it right, our wetlands and their inhabitants can continue to thrive, to the benefit of us all.
