We are overjoyed for you, Benji! Another precious life given the chance to grow up loved, protected, and cherished by a family of his very own.

Moments like these remind us why adoption matters. One adoption changes an animal's entire world and opens a space for another animal in need to be rescued and cared for.

To Benji's new family, thank you for choosing adoption. Thank you for opening your hearts and home to this special boy. Your kindness has given him the future he deserves.

As we scroll through social media, we see hands holding puppies, advertised as "available" or "looking for good homes" — but in reality, they are for sale. As seen in the attached photos various puppies from various breeders.

Why?

Why, if you already have an income and a job, do you still choose to breed puppies for profit? Is it simply for more money?

Look at this mother. Really look at her. She was forced to produce boerboel puppies again, again and again.

Bred to the bone. Exhausted. Neglected. Yet her babies are proudly held up and advertised: "For Sale."

This mommy was left on a chain. Alone. Forgotten. Her purpose was reduced to producing litter after litter. The puppies were wanted. She was not.

If you need extra income, be creative. Start a small business. Learn a skill. Find another way. Do something meaningful instead of contributing to an already overwhelming pet overpopulation crisis.

Every puppy sold takes a potential home away from an animal waiting in a shelter.

And don't think the puppies you sell never end up at the SPCA.

They do.

We see them when people move.
We see them when they become inconvenient.
We see them when they grow bigger than expected.
We see them when the novelty wears off.

The cycle continues, and the animals pay the price.

Please stop breeding for profit. Choose compassion over income. Choose responsibility over convenience.

Look at this mother again.

🐾❤️ We have said it many times, and we will keep saying it — we absolutely love visits from little people!

Teaching children from an early age about kindness, respect, compassion, and the proper handling of animals gives us hope for a brighter future for animal welfare.

A heartfelt thank you to Leoni and all the little ones for your wonderful visit, the treats and food for our animals, and for being such special guests. Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and love for animals brought smiles to everyone at Virginia SPCA.

Thank you to The Fruit of the Spirit Day Care Centre for thinking of our furry friends and for making a difference in their lives. We hope to welcome you back again very soon!

Just look at Lilly then and now... what an incredible journey.

Lilly, we are so proud of you. Your breed, the Pit Bull, is often misunderstood and too often suffers because of the actions of irresponsible people. Yet throughout your entire stay with us, you showed us nothing but love, gentleness, patience, and trust. Never aggression. Never hostility. Only a sweet, calm soul who wanted to be loved.

You reminded us that every animal deserves to be judged as an individual and given a fair chance.

We are immensely proud of Team VSPCA for embracing Lilly with kindness, patience, and compassion from the day she arrived. Healing takes more than medicine—it takes love, dedication, and people willing to believe in an animal when others may not.

A special thank you to Dr. Marna Walker for her guidance, expertise, and unwavering support throughout Lilly's recovery.

And to Monja, thank you for opening your heart and home to this beautiful girl. Thank you for seeing Lilly for who she truly is and giving her the safe, loving forever home she so deserves.

Today, let's put aside the sadness, the cruelty cases, the heartbreak, and the difficult goodbyes.

🐾✨ Time is precious — and priceless.

It is the one thing we can never get back. We all know how busy life can be, which is why this gesture means so much.

The incredible team from , a group of passionate animal lovers, gave up their Saturday morning to collect donations for the animals of Virginia SPCA. A selfless act of kindness, generosity and compassion.

Thanks to their efforts, an amazing amount was raised, along with much-needed food and treats for our animals.

To every member of the team: thank you. From every full tummy, every wagging tail, and from all our staff and committee members at Virginia SPCA, we are deeply grateful. Your support reminds us that together we can make a real difference in the lives of animals in need.

🐾🙏 While we are always in need of financial support, food, blankets and other necessities, there are many other ways in which people make us feel loved, appreciated and supported.

A heartfelt thank you to the members of the Volle Evangelie Kerk Harmony who visited us this morning with warm cups of soup, words of encouragement, and a prayer filled with hope and faith.

Our team often faces difficult and emotional situations in service of animals in need, and gestures like these remind us that we are not walking this journey alone. Your kindness, compassion, and faith have uplifted our spirits and will carry us forward in the work we do every day.

The family was contacted and Milo was reunited with them.

Kiara recently celebrated her 10th birthday, and instead of gifts for herself, she chose to collect food and treats for the four-legged residents of Virginia SPCA. How extraordinary is that? ✨❤️

Happy 10th Birthday, Kiara! 🎂🎈 Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and the wonderful example you are setting for others. Our animals will certainly enjoy all the delicious spoils, and we are incredibly grateful for your thoughtful gift.
