🎓 Sinakekele Children Safeguarding Graduation 🎓

Towards the latter part of last year, we had the privilege of enrolling all our staff members in a Safeguarding Course. We are incredibly proud to share that every member of our team successfully completed the course earlier this year. 👏🏽

We wanted to celebrate their achievement with a graduation ceremony, but unfortunately, we did not have sufficient funding to make it possible. However, God made a way! 🙏🏽✨

We were truly blessed by several incredible individuals and organisations who partnered with us to make a fully funded graduation day a reality. Because of your generosity, our staff were able to celebrate their hard work and dedication in a truly special way.

Every Thursday afternoon, our centre comes alive with the laughter, energy and excitement of a happy, vibrant group of primary school children who gather for our Little Lights Programme. ✨

We are honoured to invest in these young lives at such an important stage of their development, nurturing their hearts, building their character and teaching them morals, values and godly principles that will guide them as they grow.

We take great pride in caring for each and every child that God has entrusted to us, creating a safe and positive space where they can learn, grow, have fun and discover their God-given purpose.

Wamukelekile!

We were so excited to welcome back a volunteer from 2 years ago on Monday.

Thank you Lois and the van Houwelin family for giving up special time on your holiday here in KZN to spend time at Sinakakele.

Your visit was the highlight of our week—for all of us, toddlers and staff alike.

We trust you had an amazing holiday here in SA as you travelled around celebrating your 25th Wedding anniversary with your beautiful family.

Wishing you all a safe trip back to the Netherlands and blessings until we meet again - soon we hope.

Now this is exciting!! 💛

Our Sinakekele Khanyazi Kids have been donated some AWESOME new equipment!

But most excitingly, it came with structured lesson plans—and that is where the real magic lies.

These plans will guide our kiddies from foundational to more advanced movement skills—developing core stability, gross motor coordination, balance, locomotion, bilateral integration, spatial awareness and object-control skills through structured play.

It looks like play. It feels like fun. But behind every jump, catch, balance and movement, our children are developing the foundational skills they need as they grow.

And they are already having SO much fun with the new equipment!

Thank you, Hydie, from Playball, for going out of your way to donate these incredible items to us—and for giving us the lesson plans to ensure that we use them with purpose.

What an exciting surprise! 👟

Pranitha and Santosh called us completely out of the blue. Having received a generous donation of shoes, they kindly offered to share this blessing with us at Sinakekele.

And then—poof!—they arrived today! What truly lovely people, and what an incredible blessing for our children.

For many kiddies in our community, a well-fitting pair of shoes is something very special. Some walk in broken sandals until they literally fall apart, with the soles worn through until their feet almost touch the ground. Others wear shoes that are far too small or too big because they have been passed down by family members who outgrew them.

These shoes will bring comfort, protection and the wonderful feeling of wearing something that fits.

✨ Quarterly Reward Shop for our Little Lights!🛍️💛

Last Saturday, we hosted our Quarterly Reward Shop for all our wonderful Little Lights (ministry for primary school children), and what a special time it was! 🥳✨

There was so much excitement as our children had the opportunity to “shop” for items they love using the rewards they worked hard to earn throughout the term. 🎁👏 It was beautiful to see their smiles, excitement and sense of accomplishment as they chose their special treats. 💕

Every reward is a reminder that good choices, hard work and positive behaviour are worth celebrating!🌟 We are so proud of each and every one of our Little Lights. Keep shining bright! 💡❤️

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who donated pre-loved items towards this special event. Your generosity helped make the Reward Shop possible and brought so much joy to our children. 🥰

This past Nelson Mandela Day, our Crawford International La Lucia Pre-Primary students discovered that kindness is something we can do, not just talk about.

Inspired by Nelson Mandela’s call to dedicate 67 minutes to serving others, each of our Pre-Primary Grades played their part:
Grade 000 made play dough
Grade 00 baked chocolate cookies
Grade 0 prepared sandwiches

The most meaningful part came when a number of our parents and students joined us at Sinakekele Children’s Centre where they handed over the goodies and spent time connecting and playing with the children.

These moments give our young students a real understanding of service, kindness and community. They experienced firsthand how even small acts can make a difference and how giving our time, care and presence can be incredibly meaningful.

We are so proud of our little ones and the families who joined us in making our 67 minutes count❤️
