Vaalpets Rescue Centre Vaalpets Rescue Centre is a non-profit organisation dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming abonded, surrendered and neglected dogs.

We believe every paw deserves love, safety and a forever home. Vaalpets NPC provides various educational and caretaking initiatives in and around the Vaal Triangle. We provide dog-pellets to underfed dogs, wooden doghouses, water and food-bowls primarily to the Bophelong township. We also head the Bophelong Community Veterinary clinic that provides primary healthcare to the dogs and cats in the to

wnship. A clinic is held once a month where pets are inoculated, dewormed and dipped at R10 per pet. We take township dogs for medical treatment and do on average 84 sterilisations per month. We also take in, rehabilitate and re-home dogs in need from anywhere other than the township. Recently we started an educational initiative in association with Bophelong Primary to teach young learners to love and care for their pets. We are a registered NPC and NPO and issue S18 certificates for donations. Donations are needed for our continued work. You can make a real difference by your support, enabling us to do the footwork. The more funding we receive, the more dogs we can sterilise at our clinic, and really start working on the real solution. Our bank details are:

*How the adoption process works: We meet with you and inspect the premises where you wish to keep the animal to make sure it is safe for the animal. The areas we re-home to are not restricted to the Vaal area, so don't hesitate to contact us if you live further away. We don't ask any money, but we do ask that you name Vaalpets as a beneficiary after registering for a My School My Village My Planet card. There are several companies where you can use this card, including Woolworths. Each time you purchase from these stores, a small percentage of the total cost goes to VCPC at no extra cost to you. Remember to swipe your card before your purchase. You can put up to three beneficiaries on your card and also change one of your existing beneficiaries to Vaalpets if you wish to support us. Fleur is a 5‑year‑old female Africanis of medium size who has already stolen our hearts. 💖

She was surrendered to Vaalpets after her owner sadly could no longer care for her. When Fleur first arrived, she was skinny and covered in ticks. But with patience, love, and care, she blossomed into a happy, healthy sweetheart. 🌸🐶

Fleur is kind, playful, and adores being around children and people. She’s wonderfully friendly and gets along beautifully with male dogs. 🏡💞

Fido is a 4‑year‑old male Afrikanis who was rescued off the streets, and he has proven to be the most loving, gentle, and affectionate companion anyone could ask for. 💖

Despite his incredible personality, Fido hasn’t received a single adoption application yet – and we just can’t understand why! Over the weekend, he joined the Vaalpets event and had the BEST time ever, soaking up every moment of love and attention. He even joined the big walk with 50 other dogs, greeting everyone with a wagging tail and endless enthusiasm. 🐶✨

✨🐾 Meet Teboho – The Brave Long-Legged Jack Russell! 🐾✨

This sweet 2-year-old boy has survived more than any dog ever should. Rescued from Bophelong after suffering cruel abuse — kicked, hit, and left terrified — Teboho’s journey to healing is nothing short of inspiring. 💔➡️❤️

He underwent surgery at Vaal Animal Clinic and endured 8 weeks of cage rest with only toilet breaks allowed. Can you imagine spending 8 weeks in a small cage? After 3 months of recovery, this resilient boy is now healthy, strong, and ready to embrace life again. 🌟

We are forever grateful to the wonderful, caring people who donated towards his operation. You gave Teboho the chance at a future filled with love, adventure, and family. 🙏💖
