I DID WHAT A SHEPHERD MUST DO.
"Yesterday I had a pe*****le arrested and yes, I am a Pastor." Yes still weak, sick fighting my death sentence handed down by the world. Even in prison depends how you look at it, like the Apostle Paul when he wrote the Scripture 2 Timothy. But still was found worthy to deal with serious Godly matters. Yesterday I had to deal with another serious matter as many other times.
This message is also for you. We often find ourselves to deal with serious matters. But it is wisdom to deal with such matters as The Word of God describes and teaches us.
Some people will ask, "Pastor, did you sin by handing the person over? Should you not have covered it, forgiven quietly, kept it in the church?" My answer is NO, I did not sin. I obeyed God.
A Shepherd does not cover the wolf, he exposes the wolf.
"The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep." - John 10:13.
If I see a wolf eating the lambs and I keep quiet to protect my reputation, I am not a shepherd, I am a hireling. A true shepherd puts the safety of the lambs above the comfort of the wolf.
God commands us to protect the little ones.
"But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea." - Matthew 18:6
Jesus has a special place for children. To defend a child is to agree with Jesus. How can that be sin?
God gave the government the sword to punish evil.
"For he is the minister of God to thee for good... he beareth not the sword in vain." - Romans 13:4
I am a Pastor of the church. I am not the police. When a person abuses children, God says that person must face the sword of justice. My job was to hand the person over to those whom God ordained to punish evil. Forgiveness does not cancel consequences.
I forgive a man in my heart because Christ forgave me - Ephesians 4:32.
I hand evil doers to the law because God commands it - Romans 13:1-4.
If forgiveness cancelled consequences, there would be no courts, no prisons, no church discipline. But there is: "Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear." - 1 Timothy 5:20.
"Put away from among yourselves that wicked person." - 1 Corinthians 5:13
Forgiveness sets the soul free.
Consequences set the community free.
Love does not rejoice in iniquity.
"Charity... rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth." - 1 Corinthians 13:6.
If I had kept quiet yesterday, and today or tomorrow the person abused another child, then the next victim's blood would be on my hands. Ezekiel 33:6
I blew the trumpet.
Let's Pray: Abba Father, in the Name of Jesus The Christ, Today I come before You not as a perfect man, but as Your servant. You know my heart. You saw what I saw yesterday. You heard what I heard. Lord, give me courage to be a true shepherd, not just a popular one. Let me not fear the opinions of people, the gossip of the community, or the threats of the wicked. Let me fear You alone. Heal the children who were wounded. Heal the victim who is broken. Cover them under Your wings. Let them know that it was not their fault, and that You still love them. Wipe their tears and restore what the enemy tried to steal. Lord, let justice be done. Let the law do its work without fear or favour. Let this be a warning that Your church is not a hiding place for wolves. Forgive us where we have been silent before. Cleanse Your church, O God. Remove every wolf in sheep's clothing. Raise up shepherds after Your own heart who will feed the flock, protect the lambs, and speak the truth in love. And Lord, even for this person who did evil, if there is true repentance, have mercy on their soul - but let them face the full consequence of their deeds. I did not do this for fame. I did this because I love You, and I love Your sheep. Keep my heart clean from bitterness and pride and let Your true Church arise. I pray this prayer In Jesus Christ's' Holy Name, Amen and Amen.
God blessed day to you all. Love and respect.
Past. JJ
