Celebrating 115 years means a long and proud history of teaching students, building friendships, and helping the local community grow.

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone, 115 years of Umbogintwini Primary School. For more than a century, Twini has been so much more than a school; it has been a place where generations of learners have discovered their potential, lifelong friendships have been formed, and families have found a place to belong.

As we reflect on our rich history, we pay tribute to every principal whose vision helped shape our journey, every staff member, past and present, who has poured their heart into our classrooms, every learner who has proudly worn our badge, and every parent who has trusted us to be part of their child's story.

To our current Acting Principal, Mrs Fernandez, our dedicated management team, our incredible teachers and support staff, thank you for continuing to build on the strong foundation laid by those who came before you. Your passion, commitment, and love for our learners ensure that the Twini legacy continues to grow stronger with every passing year.

To our alumni, thank you for carrying the Twini spirit into the world. No matter where life has taken you, you will always be part of our Twini family.

Good day SPCA Amanzimtoti Supporters,

Do not worry if you missed last weeks vaccination clinic! We will, weather permitting, be having our first of the month clinic on Friday the 7th August 2026 between 9:30am - 11:30am. The clinic cost is R250 per animal and this includes:

- Puppies/dogs: 5 in 1, rabies and dewormer
- Kittens/Cats: 4 in 1, rabies and dewormer

Puppies/dogs must be brought in on leashes. Puppies/dogs are vaccinated outside. Kittens/cats must be brought in baskets/cat carriers/pillow case. Kittens/cats will be vaccinated inside at reception.

Please keep the following in mind:

- No children allowed.

Demonstrating a shared commitment to environmental stewardship, the Waste Management Directorate, in partnership with Toyota South Africa, recently conducted a beach clean-up campaign at uMbongitwini Beach. Together, they collected approximately 100 bags of waste, helping to restore the coastline and create a cleaner, healthier environment.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to follow proper waste management practises by avoiding littering and illegal dumping. Every positive action we take creates a lasting impact, helping to build a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment for everyone

Through partnerships and teamwork we are making a difference in our community.

We urge community members to JOIN the Neighborhood Watch and CPF Sub-Forums established throughout the three sectors of our policing area.

We especially encourage residents to join Patrol teams who serve as the eyes and ears in the community that assist law enforcement in crime prevention.

In an address to local stakeholders, the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Thami Ntuli said: "We cannot overemphasise...that crime-fighting is a societal responsibility, not only an obligation of law enforcement agencies...We need to organise ourselves much better and collaborate effectively as various actors if we are to succeed in eliminating crime and creating safer, peaceful communities."

COMMUNITY NOTICE
29 June 2026

The Amanzimtoti Community Police Forum together with Amanzimtoti SAPS, Metro Police, Security Companies, CPF Sub-Forum Chairpersons, and Neighbourhood Watch representatives, met at Amanzimtoti SAPS on 22 June 2026 to discuss the Community Safety plan in lieu of the planned nationwide demonstrations on 30 June 2026.

During the meeting, Col. Mzimela, Station Commander of Amanzimtoti Police Station assured all stakeholders that law enforcement together with force-multipliers will be fully mobilised in the Amanzimtoti policing area to ensure the safety and security of all residents.

The mandated CPF Sub-Forums and Neighbourhood Watches have subsequently held follow-up meetings throughout the three sectors of our policing areas over the last week. Leading by example, the volunteer patrolers confirmed their readiness to support law enforcement in their peace-keeping activities and will be actively monitoring and patroling all areas from the evening of 29 June 2026.

Residents are encouraged to act as the eyes and ears of law enforcement, reporting any suspicious activity for verification and follow-up by the appropriate authorities while refraining from engaging hostile actors directly.

At this stage, Amanzimtoti is considered a low-risk area, as there are relatively few foreign-owned businesses operating locally. However, residents are urged to remain vigilant, share intelligence, and act as an early-warning system should unlawful activity be identified.

Residents are encouraged to contact their local CPF Sub-Forum or Neighbourhood Watch to join the area specific community WhatsApp and/or alerts groups.
