TO: Former WSU Students

Please note application portal for the ABSA CSI Trust Graduate Historical Debt Relief Intervention is live and accepting applications.

This intervention aims to support students who have completed their degrees but are unable to graduate or obtain their certificates due to outstanding historical debt. The donor has identified specific universities to pilot this initiative and has also expressed a strong interest in supporting students living with disabilities who meet the eligibility criteria.

Criteria for Recruitment

To qualify, students must meet the following requirements:

• Must be South African citizens (no permanent residents, asylum seekers, or refugees).
• Must be of African, Coloured, or Indian ethnicity.
• Must have completed their university qualification.
• Must be studying at selected universities.
• Must have completed a qualification in STEM, Digital Economy, Green Economy, Commerce, or Education
• Combined household income (CHHI) must not exceed R700,000 per annum and R850,000 for students living with disabilities
• Must be between the ages of 18–35 in 2026.

Fields of Study

The bursary focuses on STEM disciplines and fields aligned to the Digital and Green Economy, Commerce, and Education.
