Meet Kealeboga Matsafu, a trailblazing young leader and philanthropist from Mabeskraal!

Matsafu is our ambassador for Annual NextGen Career Expo 2025, brought to you by the South BRICS Youth Association (SABYA) in partnership with the Nkosi Minenkulu Joyi Foundation (NMJF) and Kgosi Mabe-O-Molopyane Foundation (KMMF).

As the founder of the Rare Seeds Foundation, Matsafu is dedicated to creating positive social impacts in rural villages.

She credits her achievements to putting in the work and determination. Matsafu has excelled academically, represented South Africa in international pageants, and has been recognised for her leadership and philanthropic efforts.

Nkosi Minenkulu Joyi Initiatives: As a Senior Traditional Leader and as a Patriot of the Nkosi Minenkulu Joyi Foundation HRH has driven a number of rural community programs.

AGRICULTURAL REVOLUTION: HRH has partnered with entities such as Ukhanyo Farmer's Development to drive a program of Agricultural Revolution that seeks to inspire rural communities to utilize their fallow land for economic benefit.

BAZIYA TC & UBU HOLDINGS PARTNERSHIP: HRH is currently leading a strategic partnership with UBU Holdings focused on advancing the Baziya community's growth and sustainability. This initiative spans key sectors, including agriculture and retail, aiming to stimulate local economic activity, create jobs, and improve quality of life through sustainable practices and targeted development projects.

PARTNERSHIP WITH SHELL SOUTH AFRICA: HRH Nkosi Minenkulu Joyi has initiated a valuable partnership with Shell South Africa to drive awareness around Shells bursary program within the Baziya community. This collaboration is focused on promoting educational access for youth, especially those interested in pursuing studies in critical fields such as Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

NHBRC TRAINING FOR RURAL HOUSING DEVELOPMENT: HRH has Initiated NHBRC training for rural people, aiming to prepare the community for future construction projects, including RDP housing, to improve local housing infrastructure.

YOUTH DAY SOCCER TOURNAMENT TB HIVCARE PARTNERSHIP: HRH has organized events that combine sports with health initiatives, engaging the youth while also promoting the importance of consistent medication adherence and testing in the community.

CCMDD: HRH opened a Central Chronic Medicine Dispensing and Distribution (epup centre) to improve access to chronic medications for patients.​​ ​​This program allows for patients to collect their medications from convenient external pick-up points (PuPs) closer to their homes such as the Traditional Council. this program aims to reduce the burden on public healthcare facilities and enhance patient adherence.

DISTRICT DEVELOPMENT MODEL (DDM) Integration: HRH has Spearheaded the discussion of integrating the Invest Rural Master Plan into the DDM, aligning rural development strategies with government frameworks to foster coordinated and sustainable growth.

MONTHLY COMMUNITY STATEMENTS: Committed to drafting bi-weekly statements to update the community on events and initiatives, focusing on connecting with the youth and enhancing transparency and communication within Baziya.

HOME AFFAIRS BOOKING: The Nkosi Minenkulu Joyi Foundation Patriot has availed a clerk and a tablet at the Traditional Council offices to assist with the Branch Appointment Booking System (BABS). This system allows rural citizens to schedule appointments at Home Affairs offices and not exhaust heir finances with going back and forth to town.

TRADITIONAL LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNITY COHESION ADVOCACY: Participated in panels discussing pathways to community cohesion, emphasizing the role of traditional leaders in fostering daily unity and welfare in rural areas.

NMJF & SABYA PARTNERSHIP: HRH through the Nkosi Minenkulu Joyi Foundation, has established a strategic partnership with the South African BRICS Youth Association (SABYA) to enhance career development opportunities for youth in Baziya. In 2024, this collaboration successfully brought a Career Expo to Baziya, aimed at empowering local youth with valuable insights into future career paths. Additionally, in partnership with the OR Tambo District Municipality, HRH facilitated the selection and attendance of 10 students from OR TAMBO REGION to participate in the BRICS Summer School Program, hosted by SABYA in SANDTON GAUTENG, furthering their exposure to international education and leadership training.

UNIVERSITY of PRETORIA's CENTRE FOR MEDIATION IN AFRICA (CMA) : HRH established a partnership witht the University of Pretoria to assist in research and formulation of strategies that can assist with conflict management for the current and any issues that may arise in future.

WESTERN CAPE PROVINCIAL INITIATION COORDINATING COMMITTEE: As Chairperson, HRH has actively coordinated and safeguarded the custom of initiation in the Western Cape Province, ensuring cultural practices are carried out safely and respectfully.
