Bartle House We use this social platform to share some of the stories happening at our retirement home.

Bartle House is a non-profit organisation and a registered address of Centenary Homes situated at 300 Bartle Road in Umbilo, Durban. The home was founded in the 1800's by Mrs Jonathon Peel under the name of "The Durban Homes for Men" and has been serving the community for over 100yrs. At Bartle House, we are currently accommodating 90 social pensioners (men and women). Our main objective is to ass

ist social pensioners by providing a safe, happy and well-maintained environment for them to live in. Our home is run on Christian principles and social pensioners of all races, creeds and denominations are welcome.

What a special day at Bartle House!
Today we celebrated our very first Birthday Tea Party - a brilliant idea from Martinus at Feedem - and what a success it was!

Our August birthday stars were truly spoiled, with delicious treats, beautiful decor, lots of laughter and so much love.

A huge thank you to Martinus and the amazing Feedem team for making this happen for our residents. This is what community is all about. 💛

We already can't wait for September's party!

Our Bartle House ladies had a wonderful time at the Women’s Afternoon Tea Party at Umbilo Methodist Church on Saturday, 15 August.

What a day! Our dads were spoiled with a proper braai and lots of laughs.

Huge thank you to Lucia from AVBOB for donating the delicious boerewors - it was a hit! Our star braaiers Mike, Fritz & Derek for keeping the fire going, John for overseeing the braai like a pro and George for the background music that set the perfect vibe.

On Friday 19 June, Blaine hosted one of our muso’s, Fred, along with some of our residents for a concert and eats.

It wasn’t long before the feet started tapping and the dancing started! 💃🕺

You spoiled us with delicious biscuits on National Tea Day and mouth-watering hamburgers on Hamburger Day. Our residents loved every bite and the extra smiles that came with it.

A huge thank you to Craig from Shanley’s Funeral Home and John and Linda Didlick for filling Bartle House with fun, laughter, and fantastic entertainment yesterday morning.

Your energy and kindness brought so many smiles to our residents – it was truly a highlight of the week.

A huge thank you to amazing visitors! 🦷❤️

We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr Gopie and his Oral Hygiene students from UKZN Dental Clinic for providing our Bartle House residents with free dental check-ups and helpful referrals to the dental clinic at King Dinuzulu Hospital. Your care, patience, and expertise made a real difference to our residents.

A big thank you also to the gents from Al-Imdaad Foundation for generously handing out hygiene kits to our residents. Your kindness and thoughtfulness are truly appreciated.

It’s partnerships like these that help us keep our residents healthy, comfortable, and smiling 😊
