The Tulbagh Valley Heritage Foundation will hold their AGM at Paddagang on Wednesday the 4th September from 4 to 5.30pm. A Bar service will be available. The minutes of our last AGM in 2022 is attached. I am embraced to admit how little progress there has been on so many of these issues that were highlighted at that time. I hope with new energy and drive, we can agree to resuscitate these abandoned aspirations and plans.
Jayson Augustyn-Clark will not be running for Chairman again, so a vote for the new chair will take place. Please send any nominations via email to [email protected] or 082 0450 127
Agenda-
• Election of a new chairman and committee for the 2025 year.
• Reevaluating the Van der Stel redevelopment plan as originally proposed by Cape Winelands before lockdown, with a view to reviving it.
• The proliferation of inappropriate commercial signage in our main road and Witzenberg’s lacklustre response to it. (Hennie Taljaard to advise)
• Concern over unauthorised works in Church Street (House 6,16, 21 & 40) and the way forward
• Evaluation of proposal by Taariq, to commence compilation of Stage 3 of the Tulbagh Heritage register to include all houses older than 60 years in the Bo-dorp

• Assessment of recent request by Heritage Western Cape to formally declare a Tulbagh Heritage Conservation Area in Church & VdStel Streets (this is in addition to the previously declared 2020 Municipal Heritage Overlay Zone.
