TSAKANE BRANCH LEADERSHIP ENGAGES JEMS AHEAD OF EKURHULENI PASO REGIONAL CONGRESS

Today, the Tsakane Branch of the Pan Africanist Student Organization of Azania[PASO] held a strategic engagement session with the executive of
JEMS as part of the build-up towards the Ekurhuleni PASO Regional Congress.

The delegation from Tsakane Branch was led by:
1. Cde Sphiwe Sithathu- Branch Chairperson
2. Cde Sphamandla Mahlangu- Branch Organiser
3. Cde Amukelani Masilela- Branch Secretary for Political Affairs / Commissar

The purpose of the meeting was to workshop JEMS leadership on the congress processes, constitutional requirements, and expectations of all units ahead of the Regional Congress.

KEY DISCUSSIONS
1. Congress Processes: The leadership explained the delegate system, accreditation procedures, and voting rights as stipulated in the PASO Constitution.
2. Theme and Objectives: The Congress will be held under the theme "PASO REBUILD, PASO REJUVENATE". The focus is on rebuilding strong, disciplined, and politically conscious units in Ekurhuleni.
3. Role of Units: JEMS was urged to mobilize learners, recruit new members, and ensure political education continues in their schools. Units were reminded that the strength of PASO lies in active, organized, and ideologically grounded branches.

CONCLUSION
The Branch leadership expressed confidence in JEMS and called on them to lead by example in preparing for the Congress. The engagement marks the beginning of a series of workshops that will be conducted across all units in Ekurhuleni to ensure that no unit is left behind.

Our key demands include:
1. Immediate School Safety: Deployment of safety personnel, random weapon searches, and stronger access control at gates
2. Investigation & Accountability: Full investigation into the incident and disciplinary action against those responsible
3. Learner Support: Immediate psychosocial support for victims, witnesses, and affected educators
4. Community Engagement: A school-community safety summit within 14 days
5. Long-Term Interventions: Anti-violence, anti-drug, and anti-gangsterism programmes

STATEMENT BY THE PAN AFRICANIST STUDENT ORGANISATION OF AZANIA
ON DISCIPLINARY CONDUCT AND UNITY AMONGST PAC YOUTH AND STUDENT STRUCTURES

09 July, 2026

The Pan Africanist Student Organisation of Azania [PASO] notes with concern the public engagements currently taking place on social media between our sister structures, the Pan Africanist Student Movement of Azania [PASMA] and the Pan Africanist Youth Congress of Azania [PAYCO].

As the vanguard student movement of the Pan Africanist Congress of Azania [PAC], PASO believes that our internal political differences must never be fought in the public domain. Social media must be used to advance the ideals of Pan-Africanism, not to divide, insult, and weaken the very structures that are meant to lead our people tomorrow.

Africans, we have a duty to protect these structures.
PASMA and PAYCO are not enemies. They are components of one movement. They are the future leadership of the PAC of Azania. What we do today will determine the character and strength of the movement we inherit.

In light of this, PASO calls on the PAC of Azania to urgently call order on both PASMA and PAYCO.

We further advise the PAC of Azania National Organizer to convene a PAC Youth Imbizo or National Youth and Students Conference that brings together all youth and student component structures of the PAC. This platform must be used to address all internal challenges, clarify roles, and reaffirm ideological discipline and organizational unity.

For now, PASO calls for immediate order and restraint on both structures. Let us take the debate back to the branches, to the structures, and to the mother body where it belongs.

The revolution needs disciplined cadres, not social media wars.

Let us build, not destroy. Let us unite, not divide.
Forward to a United, Ideological, and Disciplined Movement

JOINT STATEMENT: PAYCO-PASO KWATHEMA & TSAKANE BRANCHES
Date: 16 June 2026

Today, members of the Pan Africanist Youth Congress - PAYCO and Pan Africanist Student Organisation - PASO from KwaThema and Tsakane branches and Scouts convened to rededicate ourselves to the African cause.

We affirm that to celebrate and commemorate without fulfilling the purpose of our struggle is betrayal. The blood of 16 June 1976 demands more than symbolism - it demands action, it demands solutions, it demands victory.

The Youth shall rise again. We are unapologetic in our commitment to the total liberation of Azania and the Black child.

We came armed with a revolutionary programme of action that directly confronts the problems our people face: unemployment, landlessness, decolonized education, and economic exclusion. This programme will not remain in meeting rooms.

We will be engaging youth across KwaThema, Tsakane, and beyond soon enough. The time for talk without deeds is over. The time for fragmented politics is over. The time for the youth to lead is now.

It’s not yet uhuru, Aluta kotinua
