The town is situated in the Great Karoo alongside the N1, 180km by road from Cape Town and 257km by rail. Touws River is also home to the Venus Astrology site established in 1882. A nat

ional monument was even erected to commemorate the transit of Venus. Among the attractions offered are a Big Five game reserve, nature reserves, 4x4 trials, Bushman paintings and birding spots. Bring your mountain bike along and experience nature at its purest!

UPDATE: We're fighting hard to Save the Touwsrivier Ontspanningsklub!

In just over a week, your support has driven significant media coverage (WoesTV, Worcester Standard) and pushed us into discussions with BVM, SAPS, and Heritage Western Cape to register the property as a Provincial Heritage Site!
