Awareness surrounding Cancer Survivors Month
Real life journeys unfold
June is National Cancer Survivors Month.
This month, I want to honor every survivor.
The world often celebrates the finish line, but survivorship is not a finish line at all. It is a journey that continues long after the last treatment, the final scan, or the ringing of a bell.
It is learning to live with scars both visible and invisible.
It is carrying memories of fear while choosing hope anyway.
It is navigating lingering side effects, follow-up appointments, scanxiety, fatigue, and the reality that life may never look exactly the way it did before cancer.
It is grieving what was lost while finding gratitude for what remains.
It is discovering strength you never asked for and courage you never knew you had.
To every survivor: your story matters. Your struggles are real. Your victories, no matter how small they may seem, are worth celebrating.
May this month be a reminder that you are not defined by a diagnosis, but by the resilience, determination, and hope that carried you through it.
Today and every day, we honor those who survived, those who are still fighting, and those whose strength continues to inspire us all.
You are seen.
You are celebrated.
You are a survivor.
