Paint Therapy

Painting therapy is a form of art therapy that helps cancer patients manage the emotional, cognitive, and physical challenges of the disease and its treatments. Operating as an integrative, mind-body intervention, it allows patients to externalize complex emotions that are often difficult to verbalize. When facilitated by trained, licensed professionals, painting therapy serves as a powerful psychological tool throughout diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. [ drawing and painting therapies can alleviate physical symptoms related to cancer and oncology treatments, including pain, fatigue, and chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. Anxiety and Depression Reduction: Painting stimulates blood flow to the prefrontal cortex and boosts dopamine levels, which naturally stabilizes mood and lowers cortisol (stress hormones). Clinical trials have shown significant decreases in depression and anxiety scores for both adults and children undergoing hospitalization or chemotherapy.

Nourish to Flourish is a flagship humanitarian initiative by Chinmaya Mission South Africa conceptualized by Swami Abhedananda. Operating from a high-capacity, state-of-the-art kitchen in Durban, the project serves over 2,000 free, nutritious meals daily to vulnerable groups—including schoolchildren, the elderly, orphans, and disaster-affected communities—transforming basic food charity into long-term community hope.

OThongathi Outreach Foundation is a proud recipient of the Nourish to Flourish hot meal distribution. From November 2025 we collect approximately 500 hot meals on a Sunday. We fetch them in 20 ×10 liter buckets. We pack them into individual containers for distribution. These meals are distributed on rotation to the suburbs with Tongaat. Meals are warmly recieved by impoverished and indigent families and individuals.

OThongathi Outreach Foundation would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to the Nourish to Flourish initiative for allowing us this opportunity.to apart of the program. We thank you Chinmaya Mission and Nourish To Flourish Durban South Africa
