SWEEP CAPACITY-BUILDING HIKE ๐Ÿฅพ๐ŸŒฟ

On 15 August 2026, we had the privilege of hosting a Capacity-Building Hike for student executives under the Directorate of Community Engagement, Entrepreneurship, Inclusive Innovation & Commercialisation (DCEEIIC) at Dzimauli .

It was a truly memorable experience filled with team building, leadership development, meaningful conversations, reflection and wellness.

The hike provided an opportunity for student leaders to step away from the usual environment, connect with one another, strengthen their relationships and grow together as leaders.

Our SWEEP Vision Board Session was more than just creating vision boards . it was a space for reflection, growth, and encouragement.

Together, we looked back on the first semester, celebrating our achievements, reflecting on our challenges, and learning from one anotherโ€™s experiences. Through honest conversations, we shared lessons, offered support, and motivated each other to approach the second semester with renewed purpose and confidence.

We also took time to set meaningful goals for the next six months, reminding ourselves that no matter how the first semester went, every new season is a fresh opportunity to grow, improve, and work towards the future we envision.โค๏ธโค๏ธ

The University of Venda Student Women Economic Empowerment Programme (UNIVEN SWEEP) Executive Committee is participating in the EDHE SWEEP Capacity Building and Living Lab Workshop 2026, taking place from 13โ€“15 July 2026 at the Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre.

The workshop brings together student women leaders from higher education institutions across South Africa to strengthen leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration while creating opportunities for learning, networking, and sharing best practices.

Representing UNIVEN SWEEP are Thato Ramakgapola (President), Tebogo Mulaudzi (Secretary), Khuliso Nevhutshena (Deputy Secretary), Thabisile Hlatswayo (Events and Programmes Officer), Tikanani Netshipale (Public Relations Officer), and Tshinakaho Tshilamulele (Executive Coordinator).

As UNIVEN SWEEP, we remain committed to empowering student women through leadership development, entrepreneurship, innovation, and meaningful collaboration that contributes to positive change within our university and beyond.
